Job Purpose
The Medical Officer will deliver superior clinical care to patients, collaborate in multidisciplinary patient management, facilitate educational and training initiatives, and advance the hospital’s overarching goal of ensuring sustainable, exceptional, and patient-centered healthcare services.
Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational excellence. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance productivity, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, innovation, and professional growth while aligning individual and collective objectives with broader company goals. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement and informed decision-making. Serve as a key liaison between departments, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication, resolve conflicts, and promote alignment on key initiatives. Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment while overseeing patient care across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and specialized healthcare environments.
Create and execute suitable treatment plans in alignment with established clinical guidelines and best practices.
Execute medical procedures in alignment with your professional scope of practice and demonstrated competence.
Engage actively in ward rounds, clinical audits, mortality and morbidity reviews, and quality improvement projects to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
Ensure all patient records and clinical documentation are maintained with precision, completeness, and timely updates.
Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient management outcomes.
Deliver comprehensive health education and counseling services to patients along with their families.
Engage in assigned emergency response duties, community outreach initiatives, and public health programs as required.
Provide guidance and facilitate the professional development of medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees through structured training programs and mentorship initiatives.
Support the advancement of research initiatives, foster innovation, and uphold evidence-based clinical practices.
Comply with established professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines that govern medical practice.
Seeking a candidate with a minimum of five years of experience in a comparable role, preferably within the professional services sector, along with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis, and the ability to interpret complex financial statements are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, along with a proven track record in project management and stakeholder engagement, are required. Familiarity with industry-standard software, such as ERP systems, and a commitment to professional development through ongoing education are highly valued.
Holders of a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree—or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution—are required.
Licensed and registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC), ensuring adherence to national professional standards.
A current, active professional license in good standing is required.
Internship training must be successfully completed.
A minimum of one (1) year of clinical practice following an internship is highly beneficial.
Professional certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly advantageous.
