Our esteemed client, a premier law firm situated in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, invites applications for the position of Commercial and Conveyancing Advocate, based in Nairobi. Conducts a wide range of duties encompassing key responsibilities, including the oversight of operational workflows, the implementation of strategic initiatives, and the monitoring of performance metrics to ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to foster innovation, streamline processes, and address challenges efficiently while adhering to established policies and compliance standards. Perform comprehensive due diligence on conveyancing transactions, draft legally binding sale agreements, finalize completion documentation, and oversee the accurate registration of all relevant legal documents to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Dedicated to safeguarding client interests, you will conduct thorough research, analyze relevant information, and maintain clear, consistent communication with clients throughout the process.

Conduct research to identify legal ownership of properties by assessing government land registry documents or title deeds if the land is not registered to anyone.

Draft, review, and finalize lease agreements for properties while guaranteeing execution by the designated transfer date.

Responsibilities include expediting and meticulously managing all client-related transactions with the Lands Registry, Local Authorities, Survey of Kenya, and the National Lands Commission.

Serving as a liaison between clients and essential stakeholders, including mortgage lenders, estate agents, land valuers, and surveyors, to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration.

You will prepare and transmit the terms of engagement, along with detailed estimates for fees and disbursements, ensuring clarity and accuracy for all parties involved.

Provide support in conducting due diligence and addressing intellectual property concerns within contracts, agreements, and other transactional matters.

Processing stamp duty payments and registering documents across multiple registries is a key responsibility. This role involves managing financial transactions related to stamp duty and ensuring accurate documentation is filed with the appropriate registries.

Obtain required clearance certificates and consents for transactions and activities.

Acts as a liaison between the Land Registry and various Government departments, facilitating communication and coordination between these entities to ensure smooth operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsible for preparing conveyancing documents and other legal paperwork, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.

Forge strong, professional bonds with clients while consistently exceeding their expectations to ensure high levels of satisfaction and long-term engagement.

Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or mathematics, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a similar role. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. The ideal applicant will demonstrate adaptability, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning. Familiarity with project management methodologies and regulatory compliance standards is highly advantageous.

With a minimum of three to four years of post-admission experience in a high-volume commercial law firm or department, the ideal candidate will have developed a strong background in Conveyancing, Real Estate, and Projects, as well as Banking Securities and Commercial Law.
