Job Purpose

The Medical Officer will deliver exceptional clinical care to patients, collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, assist in educational initiatives, and uphold the hospital’s commitment to providing sustainable, outstanding holistic healthcare services.

Key duties encompass planning, organizing, and overseeing project timelines, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role involves delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and providing strategic guidance to enhance productivity and efficiency. Additionally, the position demands meticulous budget tracking, resource allocation, and risk management to mitigate potential setbacks. Stakeholder communication remains critical, requiring regular updates and transparent reporting maintaining trust and accountability. The individual will also be responsible for identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous growth.

Evaluate, identify, provide treatment for, and oversee the care of patients across outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and specialized healthcare environments.

Devising and executing tailored treatment strategies aligned with established clinical protocols and evidence-based best practices is required.

Conduct medical procedures in accordance with established scopes of practice and professional competencies.

Engage actively in ward rounds, clinical audits, mortality and morbidity reviews, and quality improvement projects to ensure high standards of patient care and operational excellence.

Ensure patient records and clinical documentation are maintained with precision and efficiency.

Work collaboratively with consultants, nurses, allied health professionals, and other healthcare staff to ensure comprehensive patient management.

Deliver health education and counseling services to both patients and their families to promote informed decision-making and overall well-being.

Engage in emergency response call duties, deliver assigned outreach programs, and contribute to community health initiatives as directed.

Provide guidance and mentorship to medical students, interns, and other healthcare trainees to facilitate their professional development and training.

Help advance research initiatives, drive innovation, and support evidence-based clinical practice.

Maintain strict adherence to professional, ethical, legal, and regulatory standards that govern medical practice.

Seeking a candidate with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably within our industry. Proficiency in [specific software/tool] and strong analytical skills are essential. A bachelor’s degree in [relevant field] or equivalent work experience is required. The ideal applicant will demonstrate excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment. Prior experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines is highly desirable. A recognized institution must award a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MB ChB) degree or an equivalent qualification.

Licensed and registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).

Holds a current and valid professional license in good standing.

Internship training must be completed satisfactorily to meet eligibility criteria.

A minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience beyond internship is highly desirable.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is highly desirable.
