Collaborating closely with regional WBG teams, this role involves contributing to the development and execution of CFS’s strategy, with particular emphasis on aligning with WBG’s strategic priorities across the Africa region.

Experienced professionals in EMP and M&A Advisory will collaborate closely with regional leadership to spearhead the origination, structuring, and execution of buy-side and sell-side advisory mandates, along with restructuring advisory and EMP services across the African market.

Leading origination and execution of strategic pre-IPO advisory mandates across five regions, this role involves guiding clients through the listing process while addressing key considerations such as timing, regulatory requirements, and structural implications. Responsibilities include advising on corporate and balance sheet structures, valuation methodologies, and business planning, as well as preparing detailed listing timetables, broker selection frameworks, and prospectus reviews. Additionally, the position entails preparing management and the board for the IPO process and providing corporate governance advisory services to ensure compliance and strategic alignment.

Relationship management involves cultivating and sustaining productive partnerships with internal stakeholders across regional and industry sectors in Africa, with the goal of uncovering collaborative opportunities that advance business growth and operational delivery in alignment with IFC’s corporate objectives.

Client Management involves collaborating with multi-regional clients and internal teams to devise tailored transaction strategies, conduct bankability evaluations, assess funding feasibility, and perform financial modeling and business planning/restructuring.

Key Responsibilities Include: Preparing and reviewing essential transaction documentation, such as marketing materials for individual deals, information memorandum, due diligence reports, transaction structuring documents, and finalized contracts and agreements.

Mentorship responsibilities include providing guidance and support to junior colleagues, enabling them to meet established business objectives through structured coaching and developmental assistance.

Corporate Initiative: Enhancing IFC’s presence in the CFS sector by reinforcing the organization’s regional brand and aligning with its broader communications strategy.

Applicants must address the following key selection criteria to be considered for this position. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a similar role, demonstrating a proven track record of success. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team are essential. Proficiency in relevant software applications and a commitment to continuous professional development are also required. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing specific projects, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following skills and areas of expertise:

A Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification in finance, business, law, or consulting, coupled with a minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant experience, is required. Candidates with a diverse background spanning one or more of these disciplines will be given preference.

With a strong background in equity transactions, you may have served as a principal investor, advisor, or underwriter, having gained experience in investment banks, venture capital firms, or private equity institutions.

Seasoned professionals with expertise in transaction advisory roles encompassing buy-side mandates, sell-side mandates, and restructuring mandates are sought, ideally within the dynamic realm of disruptive technology.

With a proven history of executing targeted M&A, Restructuring, and IPO mandates efficiently under tight deadlines and high-pressure conditions.

Demonstrates a track record of cultivating robust, enduring client partnerships and effectively delivering mandates in cross-border settings, even under challenging conditions.

Experience in taking companies public on prominent global stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange, is highly advantageous.

Demonstrated excellence in achieving business objectives, coupled with a robust investment background, sharp business acumen, and a well-regarded professional reputation.
