About the role

Subculture is in search of a Finance Strategy Associate to collaborate closely with our Finance team and external partners, driving the company’s fundraising and financial strategy amid our rapid expansion. In this role, you will gain direct insights into the complexities of scaling a business within a developing market. Your responsibilities will encompass enhancing your financial acumen, strategic thinking, and operational expertise by actively contributing to executive decision-making processes and critical finance initiatives, stakeholder engagements, and key projects.

Oversee and execute core duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational objectives forward. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to ensure efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement across all departments. Lead and mentor high-performing teams by fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth while aligning individual and collective efforts with company goals. Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and financial data to inform data-driven decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Serve as a liaison between senior leadership and operational teams to facilitate seamless communication, transparency, and alignment of priorities. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical practices while maintaining rigorous quality control and risk management protocols.

Conducts in-depth financial assessments to evaluate performance, identify trends, and forecast future outcomes, ensuring data-driven decision-making across the organization. Analyzes revenue, expenses, and profitability metrics to assess financial health, while preparing detailed reports and presentations to communicate insights to stakeholders. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business objectives, and recommends cost-saving measures or revenue-enhancing initiatives where applicable. Requires proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools, along with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is essential, and professional certifications such as CFA or CPA are advantageous.

Develop and maintain financial models at both the Group and Company levels to support budgeting, strategic business planning, and capital acquisition initiatives.

Develop, oversee, and leverage tools including short-term cash flow projections, unit economics assessments, and pricing analysis, as well as demand elasticity studies to guide decision-making.

In collaboration with the Financial Planning & Analysis team, you will conduct comprehensive analyses of critical unit economics metrics, including credit loss and after-sales performance.

Partner with the FP&A and Business Intelligence teams to refine data sets, conduct advanced analytics, and construct predictive forecasting models—leveraging diverse sources such as IoT, payment data, and other information channels—to inform strategic decisions and deliver actionable insights to customers and external stakeholders, while utilizing FP&A software tools.

We are currently seeking a skilled professional to spearhead our capital raising initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in securing funding through various channels, including equity, debt, and alternative financing solutions. Responsibilities include identifying potential investors, conducting thorough financial analyses, preparing compelling pitch decks, and negotiating favorable terms. Strong proficiency in financial modeling, market research, and relationship management is essential, along with exceptional communication and presentation abilities. A minimum of five years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or a related field is required.

Partner with the Chief Financial Officer to continually refine and implement the financing strategy.

The professional will oversee and monitor capital acquisition efforts, encompassing equity, debt, grant, and technical assistance funding processes.

Oversee the creation and refinement of essential capital-raising elements, including financial modeling, investment memorandums, data rooms, market analyses, due diligence workstreams, and coordination with external advisors.

Direct supervision and coordination of financing-related initiatives, including foreign exchange risk mitigation, are required. This encompasses overseeing all associated workstreams to ensure seamless execution and alignment with strategic objectives.

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development professional to drive strategic growth initiatives and expand market presence. The ideal candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, and negotiate high-value deals to enhance revenue streams. Responsibilities include conducting market research, analyzing industry trends, and developing tailored proposals to meet client needs. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align business strategies with organizational goals, monitor performance metrics, and optimize sales pipelines. Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills are essential, along with a proven track record in generating profitable business partnerships. A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is required, and prior experience in business development or sales is highly preferred.

Offer strategic financial guidance to business development projects, focusing on existing product pricing, innovative product solutions (including carbon revenues, insurance, extended warranties, refurbished sales, and customer portal/marketplace platforms), and expansion into new markets (such as establishing subsidiaries in emerging regions), to construct robust business cases, determine pricing strategies, and secure necessary capital.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and overseeing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes. This role involves analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and presenting insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial information, maintain audit readiness, and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency. Strong proficiency in accounting principles, financial systems, and ERP software is essential, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.

In collaboration with the FP&A Manager, develop and compile comprehensive stakeholder reports that assess the company’s financial performance, operational efficiency, and impact metrics. These reports will be tailored for distribution to key audiences, including the Board, shareholders, lenders, grant providers, and strategic partners.

Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer to enhance corporate governance initiatives, including board management, and to address risk management functions.

Does this sound like you?

Seasoned professionals with four years of hands-on experience in financial modelling, financial analysis, and capital raising are sought for this role. This experience should be derived from corporate finance, private equity, venture capital, or an in-house corporate setting.

Candidates pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation—or those who have already attained it—along with an accountancy qualification or an MBA, are strongly preferred.
