Develops contributions for the Employee Relations and Wellness HR Strategy specific to the assigned HR domain.

Implements the HR policies, procedures, and processes specific to their domain, as outlined in the Policy Execution Matrix, while offering staff and line management expert guidance on related matters.

Provide guidance on intricate employee-related issues, such as disciplinary actions, grievances, inquiries, and conflict resolution, while ensuring the organization remains protected from legal exposure and reputational harm.

In collaboration with the Forensic Department, other relevant departments, line management, and staff, conduct or oversee the investigation of employee cases involving disciplinary and grievance issues, ensuring their thorough conclusion and resolution.

Oversee the staff separation process and facilitate communication regarding such actions, while ensuring full compliance with established internal policies and applicable statutory regulations.

Internally, oversee litigation involving former employees by coordinating with the in-house legal team to obtain specialized legal counsel, assembling relevant case files and supporting evidence, and engaging with witnesses to substantiate the Bank’s legal stance.

Manages and cultivates enduring relationships with a diverse network of internal and external stakeholders pertinent to the HR domain, including senior HR leaders, survey consultants, trade unions and committees, medical and wellness providers, industry associations (such as the Kenya Bankers Association and Federation of Kenya Employers), legal advisors, functional directors, department heads, branch managers, staff, and line managers.

Prepare detailed management documents, including reports, recommendations, opinions, briefs, presentations, proposals, and meeting minutes, all pertinent to the HR domain.

Delivers comprehensive secretarial assistance to business and staff committees, programs, projects, or forums pertinent to the designated HR domain, including Disciplinary and Grievance Handling Committees, Job Description Document Appeals Committees, Union/Management Meetings, Staff Visits, and Engagement Forums.

Ensure the integrity and consistency of data, records, and statistics within your designated HR domain.

Minimum qualifications for this role include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of professional experience in a related industry. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in industry-standard software are essential, as is the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, and exhibit a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Familiarity with project management principles and regulatory compliance standards is also required.

A recognized university degree at the bachelor’s level is required.

Professional certification in Human Resources is mandatory, encompassing certificates, diplomas, higher diplomas, or postgraduate diplomas in either general or specialized HR fields.

A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a related business discipline is highly desirable.

Requires a minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or an equivalent field.
