The Protection Associate is responsible for delivering structured case management services to refugees and asylum seekers experiencing psychosocial distress. This position emphasizes conducting assessments, developing case plans, making referrals, and ensuring consistent follow-up to guarantee individuals receive timely, confidential, and appropriate support. Additionally, the Associate will play a key role in enhancing integrated, client-centered case management systems within HIS programs, while integrating MHPSS principles into broader protection strategies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform comprehensive intake evaluations and risk assessments to determine client requirements, subsequently creating tailored case management plans.
Ensure prompt and accurate referrals to suitable services, followed by consistent monitoring to track progress and evaluate results.
Document case details within the confidential case management system while ensuring full compliance with data protection regulations; prepare and distribute reports to support programmatic decision-making.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date service mapping and referral pathways to ensure seamless integrated case management.
Proactively assess and identify individuals in need of tailored mental health interventions, subsequently facilitating seamless connections to suitable care providers and support services.
Incorporate foundational psychosocial support principles into case management practices to uphold a trauma-informed and client-centered framework, ensuring holistic care delivery.
Engage in community outreach initiatives to locate individuals in need of support and assist them in connecting with case management services.
Facilitate the development and implementation of community-based systems to securely identify and connect individuals requiring assistance to appropriate support services.
Develop and facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives aimed at fostering help-seeking behavior while combating stigma.
Work collaboratively with protection teams to provide comprehensive, coordinated assistance to vulnerable individuals, including those impacted by violence, child protection threats, and other protection-related issues.
Develop and sustain productive collaborations with partners, community organizations, and service providers to enhance referral systems.
Craft comprehensive and punctual reports that document case management activities, emerging trends, challenges encountered, and identified service gaps.
Monitor trends in client needs and contribute to program improvement and response planning
Ensure compliance with HIAS policies on safeguarding, accountability to affected populations, and data protection
The role involves facilitating training sessions and strengthening the capabilities of staff and community representatives in case management concepts, secure case handling practices, and ethical guidelines.
