POSITION SUMMARY:

The Protection Associate will spearhead the delivery of structured case management services for refugees and asylum seekers facing psychosocial challenges. This position involves conducting assessments, developing case plans, making referrals, and ensuring consistent follow-up to provide individuals with timely, confidential, and appropriate support. Additionally, the Associate will play a key role in enhancing integrated, client-centered case management systems within HIS programs while integrating Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) principles into broader protection initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Convene initial consultations and perform comprehensive evaluations to ascertain client requirements, subsequently devising tailored case management strategies.

Ensure prompt referrals to suitable services and conduct regular follow-ups to track progress and assess outcomes.

Document case details meticulously within the confidential case management system, ensuring full compliance with data protection regulations; subsequently, prepare and deliver comprehensive reports to guide strategic program decisions.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date service mapping along with referral pathways to ensure seamless integrated case management.

Proactively assess and identify individuals in need of specialized mental health interventions and facilitate seamless referrals to suitable service providers.

Incorporate foundational principles of psychosocial support into case management practices to foster a trauma-informed and client-centered methodology.

Engage in community outreach initiatives to detect individuals in need of support and streamline their access to comprehensive case management services.

Facilitate the implementation of community-driven systems to ensure the secure identification and appropriate referral of individuals requiring assistance.

Facilitate mental health and psychosocial awareness initiatives designed to encourage proactive help-seeking behaviors and diminish societal stigma surrounding these issues.

Partner with protection teams to deliver comprehensive, coordinated assistance to vulnerable individuals, addressing issues such as Violence, child protection risks, and other protection-related concerns.

Cultivate and sustain productive partnerships with collaborators, local organizations, and service providers to enhance referral networks.

Craft comprehensive reports in a timely and accurate manner, highlighting case management activities, emerging trends, challenges encountered, and any service gaps identified.

Analyze evolving client requirements and play a key role in enhancing programs and developing response strategies.

Ensure strict adherence to HIS policies pertaining to safeguarding measures, accountability toward affected populations, and data protection protocols.

Deliver training sessions and facilitate capacity-building initiatives for staff and community stakeholders, focusing on case management fundamentals, secure handling procedures, and ethical guidelines.

Execute all additional duties and responsibilities as designated by management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. A minimum of three years of professional experience in [specific industry or role, if applicable] is required. Proficiency in [specific software, tools, or technologies] is essential, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in psychology, sociology, social work, community development, or a related discipline is required.

A minimum of one to two years of direct case management experience within Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) or protection programming is required.

Professional experience collaborating with refugees or other underserved communities is a strong asset.

Proficiency in case management principles, adherence to IAS MHPSS guidelines, and familiarity with safeguarding frameworks are essential.

Proficiency in Accountability to Affected Population principles is required.
