The Program Assistant supports field-level implementation, routine monitoring, and data management for the School Feeding Program and related sustainability initiatives. The role ensures accurate data capture, compliance at school level, and timely reporting of field activities.

Facilitate the execution of school feeding programs at designated schools, ensuring strict adherence to approved implementation strategies and schedules.
Facilitate the organization of food delivery operations at the school level by managing receipt and conducting preliminary verification procedures.
Provide support in coordinating field operations and stakeholder interactions to ensure alignment and effective communication among all involved parties.
Facilitate the rollout of school-based sustainability initiatives under the Sustainable School Meals Project (SSMP), working in collaboration with the SSMP Project Officer, with responsibilities encompassing the establishment, oversight, and technical guidance of kitchen gardens, crop cultivation, and poultry rearing programs.
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing reporting mechanisms, tracking progress, and conducting evaluations to assess performance and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability in all processes. This role involves systematically collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to generate comprehensive reports that inform decision-making and strategic planning. Additionally, the position requires maintaining accurate records, verifying data integrity, and collaborating with stakeholders to validate findings and implement improvements based on evaluation results.
Draft quarterly and annual reports to document and communicate the progress of implementation activities, ensuring stakeholders receive timely and accurate updates on developments and milestones.
Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and updating of beneficiary and school records, including enrollment details, feeding data, and contact information.
Conduct routine school monitoring visits to verify that all aspects of the program are proceeding as planned, such as ensuring timely food deliveries, adherence to food quality standards, proper storage of food supplies, and appropriate utilization by schools.
Assist in documenting Program Change/Impact narratives to ensure clarity and compliance.
Deliver regular updates regarding the rollout of the school feeding program across all designated platforms.
Assist with data collection efforts for needs assessments, baselines, and impact evaluations conducted at both the school and community levels.
Maintain the timely and accurate updating of all prescribed tools and trackers in accordance with established requirements.
The position involves fostering strong relationships with stakeholders and community groups, ensuring clear communication and alignment of interests. Job Specification:
A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, along with relevant professional certifications. Candidates must possess at least three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role, demonstrating expertise in key responsibilities. Strong analytical skills and proficiency with industry-standard software are essential for success in this position.
A suitable qualification in Food Security, Agronomy, Community Development, Nutrition, or Social Work is required, with preference given to candidates holding a university diploma or degree.
With a minimum of two years of hands-on experience in relevant sectors, including School Feeding, Agriculture, Community Development, and Education in Emergencies, candidates should possess a proven track record in progressively responsible positions.
Proficiency in agricultural and agronomy practices is required, with a particular emphasis on engagement with schools and neighboring communities.
Proficiency in working within Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (BASAL) regions and among local communities is highly desirable.
A valid motorcycle riding license is strongly preferred.
Capable of and committed to utilizing a motorcycle as the primary mode of transportation to reach assigned project locations.
Proven track record in overseeing intricate projects and delivering comprehensive monitoring and reporting.
Proficient in leveraging various data collection and reporting platforms, including Kobe, OK, Google Forms, and Excel/Sheets, among others.
