Job Summary:

This role is responsible for ensuring Chief-Kenya adheres to all applicable Chief-Kenya, donor, and government rules and regulations. To accomplish this, the position will implement and utilize industry-leading project management systems, play a key role in designing ERP internal controls, offer specialized guidance on donor requirements and regulations, assist in contract negotiation and review processes, and strengthen staff and business systems to maintain compliance with contractual and donor stipulations.

We are seeking a dynamic professional to oversee a range of critical tasks and deliverables within this role. Key responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Additionally, the position requires analyzing performance metrics, identifying process improvements, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in relevant software tools and a track record of successful project delivery are essential requirements for this position.

To maintain effective internal control systems that align with Donor regulations and Chief-Kenya policies.

Conduct thorough reviews of processes, practices, and documents to proactively identify opportunities for enhancement and efficiency gains.

Quarterly donor compliance spot checks are conducted, with subsequent preparation of the report to be submitted to the Board and CEO. The review encompasses sample documents from Finance, HR, Programs, Logistics, Procurement, and Grants, followed by communication of findings to the relevant staff or department to initiate corrective measures.

We work closely with the Board and CEO to deliver technical assistance or enhance understanding across all departments and staff regarding donor compliance matters.

Assist in developing internal controls and enhancing the finance, procurement, and reporting functionalities within the Chief ERP system through continuous improvement initiatives.

Develop and enhance internal control frameworks for the ERP system to ensure robust governance and compliance with organizational standards.

Assist in developing Internal Controls and enhancing business systems and reporting elements within the Chief ERP system to ensure ongoing optimization and efficiency.

Play a key role in conducting thorough risk evaluations and maintaining accurate updates to the risk register.

Investigations are conducted as necessary to address specific circumstances or concerns that arise.

Certified Information Systems Auditor or Certified Internal Auditor credentials, coupled with at least eight years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, and enterprise resource planning implementation, are required.

Seasoned professionals with a track record in conducting audits for initiatives financed by USAID, CDC, and other collaborating development organizations are encouraged to apply.

Proficient in both written and verbal English communication with a high degree of clarity and fluency.

Exceptional organizational abilities, a keen eye for detail, and strong prioritization skills are essential for this role. Proficiency in collaborating with and managing professionals from both operations and finance disciplines is also required.

Proficient in utilizing advanced features of Microsoft Office application suite.
