Overall Purpose of the Job
The Program Support Officer will deliver comprehensive program management and administrative assistance to the Insects for Food, Feed and Other Uses (ITSELF) Program, prioritizing stakeholder engagement, budget oversight, financial and technical reporting, and program coordination. This position plays a pivotal role in facilitating seamless project execution by optimizing workflows, ensuring punctual reporting, and maintaining consistent collaboration with development partners, as well as other internal and external stakeholders.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
• At least three years of experience in software development or a comparable technical role is essential.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is mandatory.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are necessary.
• Experience with databases, APIs, and cloud services is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are critical.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Docker, Kubernetes, or Jenkins is a plus.
• A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry trends is expected.
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or a comparable qualification from an accredited university is required.
Project Management training equips professionals with essential methodologies, tools, and techniques to effectively oversee projects from initiation to completion. Participants will gain expertise in planning, executing, and monitoring projects to ensure they meet objectives, stay within budget, and adhere to timelines. The curriculum typically covers risk management, resource allocation, stakeholder communication, and agile or traditional project management frameworks. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in project management software. Upon completion, individuals will be prepared to lead cross-functional teams, mitigate challenges, and deliver high-quality results in dynamic environments.
Proven project/program management experience spanning a minimum of four to five years is required.
Proven experience in coordinating projects with partners and stakeholders.
Skilled in designing, planning, and executing projects from inception to completion, with a proven ability to deliver results.
Proficiency in collaborating within a globally diverse organizational setting is required.
Able to effectively lead and develop teams in a diverse, international environment.
