An officer must meet the following criteria to be eligible for appointment to this grade:
Requires a minimum of eight (8) years of cumulative relevant work experience, with at least three (3) of those years served in a Deputy Director, Engineering (Roads) role or an equivalent capacity.
Holders of a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering degree in disciplines such as Civil and Structural Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from an accredited institution, are required.
A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution is highly desirable.
As a prerequisite, applicants must hold registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya (ELK) as professional engineers.
Registration as a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MILK) is required.
Holds a valid Annual Practicing License issued by the Engineers Board of Kenya (ELK).
Completion of a formal Leadership Course, certified by a reputable institution, with a minimum duration of four weeks, is required.
Proficiency in utilizing various computer applications is essential, with a strong emphasis on software relevant to the position. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of competence in navigating and leveraging these tools to enhance productivity and efficiency in their daily tasks.
