Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations to ensure efficiency and productivity, managing a team of professionals to meet organizational goals, and developing strategic plans to enhance performance. Deliver comprehensive technical and operational assistance to strategic planning initiatives and corporate coordination activities, encompassing the following responsibilities:

Assist in creating, integrating, and tracking the UNSC’s annual work plan, results frameworks, and strategic planning documents.

Assist in developing strategic notes, concept notes, and internal planning documents for the Deputy Director and senior management of UNSC.

Support the incorporation of gender equality and women’s empowerment objectives into UN system-wide initiatives, harmonized methodologies, and collaborative inter-agency structures.

Support the development of concise briefing documents, informative background papers, and compelling presentations for high-level leadership meetings, inter-agency collaborations, and external stakeholder engagements.

Deliver technical and operational assistance to United Nations system entities and inter-agency coordination initiatives.

Assist in gathering, evaluating, and preserving current data concerning UN system coordination mechanisms, technical bodies, and inter-agency processes pertinent to the UNSC.

Support the facilitation and monitoring of actions tied to UNC initiatives, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the United Nations system.

Deliver comprehensive administrative and operational assistance for the planning and execution of senior-level inter-agency meetings, conferences, or initiatives—including coordination for Correlated activities and UN system consultations.

Deliver comprehensive technical assistance to the Secretariat overseeing the Gender Equality Acceleration Plan (GAP).

Deliver comprehensive technical and logistical assistance to advance the coordination and partnership initiatives of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.

Support UNSC in fostering productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders—including UN bodies, Member States, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and other strategic partners—to enhance system-wide collaboration on gender equality initiatives.

Assist with the coordination and documentation of meetings, consultations, and briefings organized by UNSC, which involves drafting agendas, compiling background notes, summarizing discussions, and tracking action items.

Facilitate seamless collaboration among UN Women divisions and offices to align with UNSC mandates and ensure timely delivery of outcomes.

Support advocacy initiatives, communications strategies, and resource mobilization activities by conducting background research, drafting proposal inputs, and engaging with stakeholders.

Qualifications

Graduates from holding a university degree are required, upon selection, to begin the internship within two years of completing their studies.

You must be enrolled in a postgraduate professional traineeship program that is integral to a degree program, and the internship must be completed as a mandatory component of your academic requirements.

Language:

Proficiency in English is a mandatory prerequisite for this role.

Proficiency in an additional UN language represents an asset.
