Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties critical to the role, including managing daily operations, leading team initiatives, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to streamline processes, optimize efficiency, and drive productivity improvements. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental and company-wide objectives, while monitoring performance metrics to measure success. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership and operational staff, facilitating clear communication and alignment on goals. Additionally, identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and mitigating potential operational disruptions.

Enhance the standard of academic excellence, elevate the quality of teaching and research, foster innovation, and improve student outcomes.

Maintain strong governance practices, demonstrate ethical leadership, and ensure institutional accountability.

As the Secretary to the University Council and its various Committees, you will preside over the Management Board, Senate, and other University Committees as outlined in the Statutes.

We seek candidates with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a relevant field, preferably holding a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in industry-standard software and tools. Previous managerial or leadership experience is highly advantageous, as is a demonstrated ability to drive project success through strategic planning and execution. Familiarity with current trends and best practices in the field is required, and certifications in specialized areas may be preferred.

Applicants are required to have:

A PhD obtained from an accredited university is required, with prior experience in a professorial role considered a valuable asset.

With a minimum of a decade of distinguished senior academic and administrative expertise, you must demonstrate a strong history of educational leadership, ideally having held a position such as Deputy Vice-Chancellor or an equivalent role. Prior experience as a Dean or Principal of a college will further enhance your candidacy.

Successfully led strategic initiatives with outstanding results, demonstrating exceptional leadership capabilities and driving impactful organizational outcomes.

Demonstrates a strong track record of leading research initiatives, driving innovation, and overseeing academic governance structures effectively.

Maintains an outstanding academic and research background, evidenced by numerous publications in prestigious, internationally acclaimed peer-reviewed journals and frequent presentations at high-profile international conferences.

Extensive track record in securing resources, managing financial assets, and fostering organizational growth and sustainability.

Proven success in cultivating strategic relationships, securing funding, and mobilizing resources, including research grants.

Proven experience in spearheading transformative initiatives and achieving quantifiable outcomes.

Upholding unwavering ethical standards, integrity, and dedication to exemplary governance is essential, in full compliance with the stipulations outlined in Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
