Job Purpose

The role involves designing and maintaining network and computer systems, providing technical support to business users, installing and configuring computer systems, and troubleshooting network technology issues to ensure seamless operations.

Oversee and execute a diverse range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational oversight, and cross-functional collaboration to drive organizational success. Lead and mentor teams to ensure alignment with company objectives, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, compliance, and performance across departments. Analyze key performance indicators to assess progress, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize productivity and profitability. Ensure the Bank’s entire network remains fully operational around the clock, every day of the year, by implementing industry best practices and fostering effective collaboration with technical teams, business units, and external third-party organizations.

The incumbent will be responsible for setting up and customizing software and hardware systems to meet operational needs. This includes performing installations, configuring settings, and ensuring compatibility with existing infrastructure.

Proactively maintain, troubleshoot, and update hardware and software systems to mitigate the risk of downtime and zero-day vulnerabilities before they impact operations.

Diagnose and rectify system failures and outages with urgency, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues through comprehensive troubleshooting methods.

Responsibilities include implementing the latest system releases and models to ensure optimal functionality and performance.

Maintain continuous internet connectivity and oversee mail servers to facilitate seamless email transmission and receipt, in addition to managing file servers for efficient data storage and administration.

Monitor system performance and compile comprehensive reports on operational metrics.

Ensure the protection of system integrity against breaches and viruses while assisting in risk mitigation strategies, such as implementing backup plans, data safeguards, user security policies, and identity management protocols.

Formulate and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data and ensure seamless operational continuity in the event of system failures or data loss.

Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date asset inventory for the data center, ensuring all hardware, software, and network components are accurately documented and tracked.

Oversee the administration and maintenance of network servers and technological infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of all systems.

Oversee system performance to ensure adherence to specified requirements and maintain operational integrity through consistent monitoring and upkeep.

Collaborate in the strategic planning, deployment, configuration, and validation of business continuity and disaster recovery systems for the bank to ensure operational resilience and minimal downtime during disruptions.

To design and execute robust network security measures, this role involves constructing firewalls, establishing IPsec VPN configurations, integrating cryptographic solutions, and establishing comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and standards across the bank’s infrastructure.

Assess hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in LAN, WAN, and MAN environments to determine procurement needs.

Proactively identify potential communication and network challenges to develop and execute proactive solutions.

Conduct thorough assessments, appraisals, and ongoing oversight of network infrastructure to guarantee peak operational efficiency.

Implement and maintain robust security measures, including access controls, data backups, and firewall configurations, to safeguard systems and information integrity.

Collaborate with external vendors and support organizations to ensure continuous assistance and upkeep for both hardware and software systems.

Guarantee the prompt and accurate completion of all invoice processing tasks to meet established deadlines.

Daily surveillance of systems must be conducted, with prompt responses to any security or usability issues that arise.

Oversee Proof point administration, manage storage systems, and ensure continuous monitoring to maintain optimal performance and security.

Monitor and document the operational status and effectiveness of replication services connecting primary data centers to disaster recovery sites. Provide detailed reports on performance metrics, ensuring timely identification and resolution of any issues to maintain data consistency and availability.

Oversee the disaster recovery (DR) systems, ensuring their maintenance, configuration, and operational integrity for both primary data center (DC) and DR servers.

Assist in the implementation of system upgrades and deployment of necessary fixes or patches within the infrastructure unit.

Provide support in the execution of system solutions and the implementation of projects to achieve business, operational, and compliance goals.

Conduct follow-up assessments on audit findings, develop and recommend corrective actions, and oversee the effective implementation of remediation or mitigation strategies to resolve identified issues.

Ensure full compliance with all policies and guidelines by aligning their implementation with audit recommendations and applicable requirements.

Oversee adherence to all pertinent bank and regulatory standards throughout the deployment of associated services.

Notify the Head of IT Applications promptly of any identified discrepancies.

Conduct periodic Risk Control Self-Assessments for the unit to ensure ongoing evaluation and compliance.
