Job summary/ Job purpose/ Role Intent:
The incumbent for the Sectional IP Network Engineer–Field role will ensure MAN network availability and customer uptime KPIs are met by performing on-site power-related maintenance for designated MAN nodes, thereby maintaining service quality and continuity in alignment with company KPIs and within allocated budget constraints. Additionally, the position entails conducting feasibility studies and implementation, as well as handling billing-related disconnections and reconnections of ISDN and PSTN circuits at the MAN level.
Oversee a diverse range of critical tasks, including managing daily operations, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. Develop and maintain robust processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality across all functional areas. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvement. Monitor performance metrics, analyze data trends, and generate actionable insights to inform decision-making. Lead and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth. Ensure consistent MAN availability by proactively maintaining the power supply of the nodes.
Proactively manage and resolve MAN and Switch power-related faults assigned to you, ensuring completion within the specified service level agreement (SLA) timeframes.
Key updates are facilitated throughout the restoration process to ensure complete transparency and ongoing communication with the customer.
Conduct feasibility studies, oversee the implementation, and manage the disconnection and reconnection of ISDN and PSTN circuits.
Develops and maintains comprehensive customer setup documentation to ensure clarity and consistency in onboarding processes, capturing all essential steps, requirements, and configurations required for successful implementation.
Ensure compliance with HSE protocols, engineering standards, legal regulations, and established procedures to uphold a secure and safe work environment.
Monitor individual performance metrics and recommend strategic initiatives aimed at enhancement.
Oversee and manage network expenditures while ensuring alignment with Finance department objectives.
Performs additional tasks as directed by the direct supervisor, including those delegated for execution, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives and priorities.

Adhere to the prescribed monthly fuel allocation strictly.
Monthly, submit Street MAN power meter readings to the finance department by the 20th.
Nairobi Means achieved an exceptional average availability of 99.65% throughout the year.
To ensure operational excellence, at least 90% of Nairobi’s Medium Voltage Service Areas (Means) must consistently meet Power performance targets.
90% of Nairobi’s Means exceed a 90% performance rating in Power efficiency.
Within two hours of bill payment, 80% of disconnected lines must be restored.
Customer service level agreement compliance requires that 80% of all provision and cessation cases assigned are resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.
Resolving 80% of reported faults within a four-hour timeframe is expected.
Execute quarterly routine maintenance on all MAN nodes, delivering a comprehensive assessment of power autonomy status along with tailored recommendations for each node.
Ensure all assigned Feasibility tickets are processed and resolved within a 24-hour timeframe.
Holds a relevant degree in the specified field and possesses professional certifications or equivalent work experience. Demonstrates proficiency in industry-standard tools, methodologies, and best practices. Exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Maintains a commitment to continuous learning and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Telecommunications, with specialized training in technology or engineering, is required.
Demonstrates a strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Holding a valid Kenyan driver’s license is required for this position.
