JOB PURPOSE

Actuarial Science or Statistics graduates are sought for this role, with a strong preference for candidates holding a degree in these disciplines. The position requires proficiency in mathematics, particularly in probability and statistics, along with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. Prior experience in data analysis or risk assessment is advantageous, though not mandatory. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing models to evaluate financial risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and presenting findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
The position involves overseeing insurance strategies and mitigating organizational risks to safeguard assets and ensure operational continuity. Responsibilities include analyzing policy coverage, negotiating premiums with providers, and implementing risk management frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in risk assessment tools, and a deep understanding of regulatory compliance. Additionally, expertise in claims processing and crisis management is essential for maintaining financial stability and operational efficiency. A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is required, with relevant certifications such as CRM or CPCU highly preferred.
Business degrees in Administration, Commerce, or Finance are required for this role. Candidates must possess a relevant three- or four-year undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret financial data are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is mandatory, along with excellent organizational and communication abilities. Prior experience in a similar role is preferred, though not strictly required.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required, along with at least three years of experience in a relevant role. Certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, with proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel. Excellent communication abilities are necessary to present findings clearly to stakeholders. The ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines is critical. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and industry standards is a plus.
A recognized Diploma in Insurance from AII or ACID—or ongoing pursuit of one of these qualifications—is required.
Membership in the Insurance Institute of Kenya (INK) or another recognized professional organization is advantageous.

Minimum two years of experience in medical underwriting, health insurance account management, or a comparable field is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience overseeing corporate group schemes, with a focus on renewal management and client service excellence.
Knowledge:
A comprehensive grasp of the insurance sector is required, particularly in medical/health insurance products, policy frameworks, and benefit design.
Proficient in medical loss ratio oversight, claims evaluation, and underwriting fundamentals specific to group medical programs.
Proficiency in Kenya’s Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) guidelines regarding Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance is required.
A familiarity with wellness program frameworks and chronic disease management principles is beneficial.
