Our client, a rapidly expanding mid-sized freight forwarding firm based in Nairobi, focuses on air and sea cargo logistics from major global hubs such as Dubai, Guangzhou, London, Milan, Johannesburg, Istanbul, and Amsterdam. The company handles approximately 80–100 tonnes of air freight monthly, encompassing both commercial and personal consignments, and processes one 40ft container daily. They deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions, ensuring full shipment visibility from warehouse receipt through customs clearance to final delivery.

The organization is in search of a highly motivated and seasoned Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will assume complete operational leadership, enhance existing systems, and spearhead the next stage of expansion.

We are seeking a dynamic professional to fulfill a range of essential duties and responsibilities, including [insert specific responsibilities here]. Manage air freight operations, sea container logistics, warehousing, transportation, and customs clearance processes to ensure seamless supply chain execution.

Educational Background and Professional Experience:

Applicants must possess the necessary academic credentials and relevant work history to qualify for this position. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with preference given to candidates holding advanced degrees. Proven experience in a comparable role is essential, along with a track record of achieving measurable results. Familiarity with industry-specific tools, methodologies, or frameworks is highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

A minimum of 10 to 15 years of professional experience in freight forwarding and logistics is required, with a proven track record in air freight operations and containerized ocean freight management.

A minimum of five years of executive leadership experience in roles such as General Manager, Director, or Chief Executive Officer, where direct Profit & Loss accountability was held, is required.

Demonstrates a strong history of delivering exceptional client service and driving operational enhancements within logistics operations.

A robust understanding of the regulatory landscape in Kenya and East Africa, including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Kenya Ports Authority (PA), and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEYS), is essential.

A bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or certifications such as CULT or FIAT would be considered a valuable asset.
