This role is responsible for designing and executing the Bank’s performance management strategies and policies to enhance staff productivity, attract and retain top talent, and ensure alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and market standards. The position involves fostering a high-performance culture throughout the Bank by closing the divide between organizational goals and individual productivity, administering the full performance management framework, overseeing incentive and reward systems, and leveraging key data analytics to inform critical business decisions.

Oversee and execute essential duties encompassing a wide range of operational and strategic initiatives to ensure organizational success. Develop, implement, and monitor policies, procedures, and best practices to foster efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead cross-functional teams to collaborate on projects, aligning efforts with company objectives and promoting accountability. Analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend data-driven solutions to optimize processes and enhance productivity. Serve as a key liaison between departments, stakeholders, and senior leadership to facilitate seamless communication and alignment. We are seeking a skilled professional to oversee and enhance our performance management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will develop and implement performance evaluation systems, provide constructive feedback to employees, and identify opportunities for career development. Responsibilities include analyzing performance data, tracking key metrics, and reporting insights to leadership to support data-driven decision-making. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, along with at least five years of experience in performance management or a similar role. Proficiency in performance management software and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Spearhead the development, deployment, and ongoing refinement of the Bank’s performance management framework to drive operational excellence and strategic alignment.

Oversee the annual performance management cycle, encompassing goal establishment, mid-year assessments, and year-end evaluations.

Oversee the development and administration of organization-wide performance management and improvement initiatives, employing data-driven methodologies to align priorities with ongoing strategic objectives.

Design, implement, and oversee leadership development, employee growth, and talent management strategies to bridge performance gaps arising from staff capacity or knowledge deficiencies, while also optimizing talent sourcing, management, and mobility initiatives.

Deliver comprehensive training and ongoing support to line managers and staff to ensure the successful attainment of Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) goals.

Foster a culture of high performance by implementing strategic goal setting, conducting thorough performance reviews, and establishing pay-for-performance programs.

Maintain uniformity, equity, and clarity in performance evaluations and feedback mechanisms.

Analyze performance metrics to derive actionable insights that drive talent development initiatives, succession planning strategies, and compensation-related decisions.

Implement organization-wide initiatives designed to cultivate and sustain a high-performance culture across all levels of the company.

Developing a structured workflow to monitor progress from initial goal establishment through mid-year assessments and culminating in year-end evaluations, thereby enhancing individual, collective, and organizational effectiveness.

To facilitate targeted communication and capacity-building initiatives within the performance management framework, empowering managers with the tools to accurately assess and enhance individual and team performance while driving overall productivity and efficiency.

To maintain the Bank’s remuneration packages as competitive and aligned with market and industry benchmarks, conduct periodic salary and compensation surveys.

The role encompasses overseeing governance frameworks and ensuring accurate, timely reporting, with responsibilities spanning regulatory compliance, risk management oversight, and the preparation of comprehensive reports for stakeholders. Key requirements include a strong background in corporate governance principles, proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, and exceptional communication skills to convey complex information clearly. Additionally, the position demands meticulous attention to detail, the ability to interpret regulatory requirements, and experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to align governance practices with organizational objectives.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and regulatory bodies, including the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK), as mandated by internal policies and external requirements.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or possess equivalent professional experience.
