Job Summary

The Manager I: Underwriting role drives the precise evaluation of insurance risks in alignment with established policies to bolster business retention, expansion, and financial performance.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team, where you will be responsible for executing a range of critical tasks aligned with the organization’s objectives. Your duties will encompass overseeing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional efforts, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Additionally, you will play a key role in analyzing performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategic solutions to enhance operational efficiency. Collaboration with stakeholders at all levels will be essential, as you contribute to decision-making processes and drive initiatives that support long-term growth. Proficiency in relevant software tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities are fundamental requirements for success in this position.

Accurate assessment of risks associated with different insurance categories is essential.

Providing clients, brokers, and agents with expert guidance and precise calculations regarding insurance premiums.

Compiling high-value insurance returns and detailed summaries in compliance with IRA/AKA regulations.

Facilitating communication with the Reinsurance Section to address risks necessitating facultative reinsurance placement.

Prompting the debiting of all new and renewal business in compliance with established turnaround timeframes.

Reviewing and authorizing tasks in accordance with established authority limits as outlined in the relevant policies and procedures.

Handling policy documents and endorsements with precision while ensuring adherence to established turnaround timeframes.

Professional Rewriting:
Consistent dispatch of Renewal Notices to clients and intermediaries aligns with established company standards and timelines.

Advising on business development matters regarding any potential risks during renewal, particularly in instances where the loss ratio is unfavorable.

Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence in strict adherence to established mail handling protocols and procedures.

Addressing customer grievances in accordance with the established complaints handling procedure.

Conducting comprehensive assessments, delivering expert recommendations, and executing enhancements to risk mitigation strategies across diverse categories.

Ensuring all reinsurance requirements are thoroughly understood and strictly adhered to in order to mitigate risk and effectively achieve the established business plan objectives.

Compiling monthly reports and performing any additional tasks assigned by Management.

Reviewing and approving all documentation that has been prepared and processed ensures accuracy and compliance with established standards before final authorization.

Responsibilities include overseeing operations, delegating assignments and correspondence, as well as facilitating and synchronizing team activities.

Credit management is handled by initiating and distributing cancellation notices to enforce policy adherence and maintain financial compliance.

Addressing internal and external audit matters promptly and within established deadlines is a key responsibility of this role.

Monthly oversight of Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) reports is required to ensure accurate data compilation and performance tracking.

Assess the footprint system and related processes to pinpoint inefficiencies and recommend enhancements that drive optimization.

Evaluating, coaching, and fostering the professional growth of team members.

Assisting in the execution of multiple initiatives and projects within the department as required.
