Job Summary

The Utility Technician will oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of pharmaceutical water treatment and compressed air systems, ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality utilities that meet GMP and regulatory standards. This position requires process monitoring, routine sampling and testing, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and the meticulous maintenance of operational records to uphold product quality, safety, and compliance.

Key duties encompass planning, organizing, and overseeing project timelines and resources to ensure timely and efficient completion. Collaborating with cross-functional teams is essential to align goals and address any challenges that may arise during execution. Monitoring progress through regular evaluations and performance metrics is necessary to maintain accountability and drive continuous improvement. Additionally, the role requires effective communication with stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle. Managing budgets, allocating funds appropriately, and tracking expenditures are critical to maintaining financial discipline. Ensuring compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards is also a fundamental responsibility.

Operate and maintain water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis (RO), electro deionization (EDI), filtration units, softeners, ultraviolet (UV) systems, and distribution loops to ensure optimal performance and water quality.

Operate and maintain compressed air systems, which encompass compressors, dryers, filters, receivers, and distribution networks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Responsibilities include performing regular water sampling and analysis to assess parameters such as pH, conductivity, microbial contamination, and chlorine residuals.

Maintain compressed air quality in strict adherence to pharmaceutical standards, specifically ISO 8573 and GMP requirements.

Conduct regular inspections and carry out preventive maintenance on pumps, valves, filters, membranes, and piping systems to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.

Ensure the meticulous documentation of operational logs, maintenance records, and test reports to uphold accuracy.

Ensure the safe handling of treatment chemicals while adhering strictly to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations.

We facilitate troubleshooting efforts and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and operational efficiency.

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of three years of professional experience in data analysis, machine learning, or a related field. Proficiency in programming languages including Python, R, or SQL. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. Excellent communication skills to convey insights to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure is a plus. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a commitment to continuous learning.

A diploma or degree in Chemical & Process Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Water Engineering, or an equivalent discipline is required.

Seeking candidates with at least three years of hands-on experience in utilities operations or a related technical field.

Proficiency in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments is highly advantageous.

Proven capability to perform effectively across various shift schedules, encompassing day, evening, and overnight rotations.

Proficient in utilizing essential software applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other relevant tools, with a strong command of computer operations.
