Assisting in the formulation and execution of CFS’s strategy, in close collaboration with regional WBG teams, with a particular emphasis on advancing WBG’s key strategic priorities within the Africa region.

EMP/M&A Advisory: Partnering with regional leads to spearhead the development and completion of both buy-side and sell-side advisory mandates, as well as restructuring advisory and EMP services across the Africa region.

We specialize in pre-IPO advisory services, spearheading the origination and execution of strategic mandates across five global regions. This involves guiding teams in advising clients on listing procedures, strategic timing, regulatory compliance, and critical considerations; assessing and recommending enhancements to their current corporate structure, balance sheet configuration, valuation methodologies, and business planning frameworks; developing comprehensive timetables for listing milestones, broker selection, and prospectus refinement; preparing executive leadership and the board for the listing process; and providing advisory support on corporate governance matters.

Maintaining robust relationships with internal stakeholders across regional and industry sectors within Africa are essential, with a focus on uncovering collaborative opportunities to advance business growth and execution in alignment with IFC’s corporate objectives.

We collaborate with multi-regional clients and internal stakeholders to devise tailored transaction strategies, evaluate bankability, assess funding feasibility, and perform financial modeling and business planning or restructuring.

Responsible for preparing and reviewing essential transactional documentation, including marketing materials for each deal, information memorandum, due diligence findings, transaction structuring reports, and the drafting of contracts and agreements.

Mentoring junior team members and supporting their efforts to meet business objectives.

Corporate Initiative: Enhancing IFC’s presence in the CFS sector by reinforcing its regional brand and aligning with the organization’s overarching communications strategy.

Prospective candidates must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the specified selection criteria. They should present evidence of relevant qualifications, skills, and professional experience that directly align with the role’s demands. Additionally, applicants are required to articulate how their background meets each criterion, supported by concrete examples from past achievements. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas and bring relevant experience to the role:

A minimum of 12 to 15 years of relevant professional experience is required, along with a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in finance, business, law, or consulting. Preference will be given to candidates whose expertise spans two or more of these fields.

With extensive experience in equity transactions as a principal investor, advisor, or underwriter across investment banks, venture capital firms, and private equity institutions, the ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise to the role.

Transaction advisory professionals with expertise in buy-side mandates, sell-side mandates, and restructuring mandates—ideally within the disruptive technology sector—are sought.

Delivers consistently high-impact results on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring initiatives, and initial public offering mandates, even within demanding schedules and high-pressure conditions.

Demonstrates a track record of cultivating enduring client connections and effectively managing mandates in cross-border and challenging settings.

Experience in facilitating companies’ initial public offerings on prominent international stock exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, is highly advantageous.

Demonstrates a proven ability to deliver business outcomes, combines extensive investment expertise, exhibits exceptional business acumen, and maintains a respected professional reputation.

Demonstrates exceptional collaboration skills and proven capability to thrive within a geographically distributed team operating in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.
