As a psychiatrist with Médecins sans frontières (MSF), you will develop, execute, and refine treatment protocols for individuals experiencing mental health conditions. Your role will require selecting and applying interventions tailored to each patient’s cultural and contextual background. A key responsibility will involve organizing related activities and offering mentorship and oversight to locally hired staff involved in psychosocial and mental health programs.

Daily responsibilities typically involve providing one-on-one clinical consultations and facilitating group-based therapeutic or psycho-educational sessions.

Your role will focus primarily on clinical responsibilities, yet you will also be instrumental in recruiting, training, and overseeing locally hired mental health professionals. Furthermore, your capacity to tailor tools and interventions to align with local cultural nuances and evolving circumstances will be vital.

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our team, and applicants must meet the following criteria. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with at least five years of hands-on experience in a similar role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, and candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must, along with the capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, prior leadership experience is preferred, though not mandatory.

Hold an active license in Psychiatry along with a valid certification.

A minimum of two years of post-residency clinical experience in a multidisciplinary environment is required, with a focus on delivering psychotherapeutic and counseling interventions to patients.

A minimum of six months of clinical experience is required, with the most recent experience obtained within the past two years.

Professional experience in addressing mental health challenges within at least TWO of the following domains is required:

Sexual violence encompasses any act of a sexual nature perpetrated against an individual without their explicit consent, including but not limited to rape, sexual assault, harassment, and coercion. Addressing sexual violence requires comprehensive prevention efforts, survivor-centered support services, and legal accountability for perpetrators to ensure justice and promote safety within communities.

We seek a dedicated professional with specialized expertise in trauma care to join our team.
