"Doctors Without Borders: Medical care for those in crisis."
Médecins sans frontières (MSF), also known as Doctors Without Borders, is a globally recognized humanitarian-aid NGO and Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Renowned for delivering medical assistance in conflict zones and developing nations battling persistent diseases, MSF was established in France in direct response to the Biafran War. While widely referred to by its localized name or simply as MSF in most regions, the organization is commonly known as Doctors Without Borders in Canada and the United States.
In 2015, over 30,000 professionals—primarily local doctors, nurses, medical staff, logistics experts, water and sanitation engineers, and administrators—provided critical medical care across more than 70 countries. These dedicated volunteers selflessly contributed their expertise to address critical global health challenges. Approximately 90% of MSF’s funding comes from private donors, with the remainder from corporate contributions, resulting in an annual budget of roughly US$750 million.
