Prepares or supports the development of legal opinions and guidance on diverse international public law and environmental law matters—such as those stemming from the United Nations Charter, resolutions from the General Assembly and the United Nations Environment Assembly (NEA), and the interpretation and implementation of multilateral environmental agreements (MEA’s). This includes addressing complex issues concerning privileges and immunities, institutional matters, treaty law and practice, procedural challenges during engagements with United Nations bodies, as well as constitutional and administrative law of the Organization as they pertain to UNEP.
