ABOUT THE ROLE
We seek an accomplished Technical Lead to drive the design, development, and execution of WSU’s urban sanitation carbon mitigation initiative in Kenya. This position will oversee the collection and management of carbon data, the establishment of MRV (Measurement, Reporting, and Verification) systems, stakeholder engagement, and the formalization and integration of sanitation service providers. The role will facilitate the registration, monitoring, verification, and issuance of carbon credits derived from faucal sludge management and methane mitigation interventions in Nairobi, Kisumu, Natasha, and Nakuru.
We require candidates to possess the following qualifications: a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a relevant field, proficiency in industry-standard software, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, applicants must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. A bachelor’s degree or higher in a related discipline is mandatory, and professional certifications are preferred. The ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines is essential.
Individuals should possess a robust background and comprehensive understanding in the relevant field, demonstrated through at least [X] years of hands-on experience. A deep familiarity with industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends is essential to effectively execute the role’s demands. Successfully managing projects funded by governmental bodies or agencies is essential, with a proven track record in overseeing such initiatives being highly desirable.
With a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) initiatives tailored for low-income urban communities, proficiency in this field is essential.
We value experience collaborating with water and/or sanitation service providers and enterprises, particularly those engaged in relevant operations.
A proven ability to consistently meet project objectives while adhering to established deadlines and budgets is required.
