The Global Technical Lead (GTL) will design and execute the program in accordance with Sight savers’ thematic and program strategies, while spearheading the development of pioneering, inclusive methodologies to foster systemic transformation and deliver lasting, sustainable results.
This role is a full-time, on-site position requiring the incumbent to work from the Sight savers office in Abuja, Accra, Lusaka, or Nairobi, five days a week.
Oversee a range of critical tasks including planning, organizing, and executing projects to ensure timely and efficient delivery of results. Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to enhance operational performance and achieve organizational objectives. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align efforts and foster a cohesive working environment. Monitor progress through performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed. Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards throughout all processes. Provide regular reports to leadership outlining key achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations. Support team development through mentorship, training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Offer strategic technical guidance to a cross-regional initiative aimed at enhancing digital competencies and employment prospects for young individuals with disabilities, while simultaneously promoting greater disability inclusion in workplaces and labor markets throughout East, West, and Southern Africa.
Work collaboratively with Global Technical Leads and implementing partners to deliver program objectives cohesively and with high impact.
Spearhead the development and implementation of forward-thinking strategic initiatives to elevate the quality, relevance, and long-term sustainability of Sight savers’ initiatives.
Collaborate on interdisciplinary initiatives encompassing research, innovation, policy development, advocacy, and communications, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders to drive collective impact.
As a senior-level representative for Sight savers, you will serve as a distinguished subject-matter expert in digital inclusion and the digital economy, engaging with national, regional, and international networks, conferences, and sector platforms.
The position requires up to 12 weeks of travel per year.

Seasoned in spearheading initiatives focused on digital competencies, workforce training, and career transition programs, particularly within regions of the Global South.
Professional experience in non-governmental or non-profit organizations, with a focus on administration and oversight of programs funded by donors.
Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively with diverse labor market stakeholders—particularly within the private sector—to enhance employment opportunities and promote decent work standards.
Possesses a comprehensive grasp of contemporary advancements in artificial intelligence and digital technologies, alongside their wide-ranging implications for employment dynamics and labor market trends within African and Global South settings.
