Key responsibilities encompass overseeing project execution, ensuring adherence to timelines, and coordinating team efforts to achieve organizational objectives. Assisting with the compilation and development of technical briefs, working papers, reports, and presentations associated with Air Traffic Management (ATM), Aeronautical Information Management (AIM), and Search and Rescue operations.

You will assist in gathering, updating, and evaluating operational performance and implementation data for Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) systems and initiatives.

Provides support in tracking and following through on initiatives stemming from regional planning, coordination, and implementation sessions focused on air navigation and operational optimization.

Enhances regional preparedness and operational effectiveness by coordinating, monitoring, and tracking Search and Rescue (SAR) activities throughout the USAF Region.

Reviewing Search and Rescue (SAR) contingency plans, exercise reports, and associated operational documentation to facilitate ongoing enhancements and adherence to international standards.

Conducting evaluations to pinpoint and assess gaps in the implementation of Search and Rescue (SAR) systems, while facilitating the creation of relevant reports and follow-up procedures.

Assisting in the monitoring of action items and the advancement of implementation efforts stemming from regional planning and implementation groups, as well as their affiliated technical bodies.

Responsible for preparing meeting summaries, technical records, and outcome reports to facilitate follow-up actions and regional coordination.

Assisting in the upkeep of electronic records, databases, and information systems pertinent to Air Traffic Management (ATM), Aeronautical Information Management (AIM), and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations.

Assisting with the gathering, consolidation, and evaluation of operational and safety data to enhance regional monitoring efforts and drive performance improvement initiatives.

Facilitating the compilation of regular progress reports, implementation updates, and performance monitoring documentation.

Facilitating collaboration and strategic engagement with civil aviation authorities, air navigation service providers, and regional stakeholders to advance regional priorities and initiatives.

Assisting with additional tasks aligned with the Section’s mandate and objectives as deemed necessary.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in a range of competencies relevant to the role, including analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. Proficiency in project management methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum, is essential, along with the ability to collaborate seamlessly within cross-functional teams. Qualifications

Education: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Advanced degrees are preferred for senior-level roles, and relevant certifications may enhance qualifications. Equivalent work experience combined with substantial professional achievements may be considered in lieu of formal education. Strong academic performance in quantitative and analytical subjects is essential to succeed in this role.

Candidates must either hold a completed bachelor’s degree or be currently enrolled in one, with a focus on Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation, Air Transport Management, Aviation Safety Management, Electrical or Electronic Engineering (specializing in Telecommunications or Navigation Systems), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Transport and Logistics Management.

Seeking candidates who possess a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in a related field. Applicants should have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated expertise in project management, cross-functional collaboration, or industry-specific operations. Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with industry best practices and emerging trends.

Applicants need not possess prior professional experience to be eligible for the Internship Program. Nevertheless, their academic background, educational qualifications, advanced coursework, or applicable skills must align with the requirements and objectives of the ICAO USAF Region throughout the duration of the internship.

Proficient command of one or more foreign languages is essential, with fluency in English required. Additional languages are highly advantageous for enhancing communication and collaboration across diverse teams and global markets. Strong written and verbal communication skills in these languages are critical for accurately conveying information, negotiating agreements, and fostering productive relationships with stakeholders.

Fluent proficiency in English, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking skills, is required.

A working proficiency in French is preferred, as it aligns with the organization’s operational needs.

The internship is contingent upon the successful completion of specific prerequisites, including academic standing in a relevant field of study and the availability of a designated supervisor. Participants must adhere to the established schedule, typically ranging from 15 to 20 hours per week, unless otherwise agreed upon. Additionally, interns are required to maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary information and comply with all organizational policies throughout the duration of the program. Performance evaluations will be conducted periodically to assess progress and ensure alignment with learning objectives.

Interns will be provided with a stipend; however, all expenses associated with travel, insurance, accommodation, and living costs must be covered by the intern.

The internship spans a six-month period and requires a full-time commitment, with the intern expected to work five days each week.

Interns are ineligible to accept any additional employment opportunities with ICAO throughout the duration of their internship.
