Role Summary

Reporting directly to the Senior ICT Officer, the ICT Intern will acquire hands-on expertise in Information Technology within a fast-paced NGO setting. This internship offers comprehensive exposure to essential ICT functions such as user support, systems administration, network monitoring, data and systems management, and security operations. Collaboration with the ICT team will be central to the role, enabling the intern to participate in daily operational tasks, advance ongoing projects, and uphold the organization’s mission by maintaining seamless, secure, and dependable ICT services.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical functions and operational tasks to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to organizational objectives. Manage, coordinate, and execute key responsibilities that drive efficiency, productivity, and strategic alignment. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize performance and maintain high standards of quality. Monitor progress, assess outcomes, and provide actionable insights to enhance decision-making and operational effectiveness. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to align efforts, resolve challenges, and achieve collective goals. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity.

Offer technical support to employees regarding common software and hardware challenges.

Provide support for the setup, configuration, and ongoing management of both hardware and software systems.

Provide technical assistance for network troubleshooting and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance.

Monitor and oversee the repair and maintenance processes for all ICT equipment to ensure timely completion and adherence to established standards.

Deliver comprehensive ICT support for meetings, events, and field operations to ensure seamless technological functionality.

Support Information and Communication Technology (ICT) security operations by actively monitoring potential threats, enforcing established security policies, providing assistance during audits, and ensuring adherence to organizational compliance standards.

Document any unresolved issues and promptly escalate them to senior ICT staff for further review and resolution.

Execute all additional tasks as directed by the ICT supervisor.

Required qualifications include a relevant degree in [field/discipline] from an accredited institution, complemented by a minimum of [X] years of progressive experience in [specific industry/role].
