Job Objective: Enhancing operational efficiency through strategic leadership, this role is designed to drive performance and execute key initiatives while maintaining high standards of accountability and governance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in process optimization, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration, enabling the organization to achieve its strategic and financial objectives. Responsibilities include overseeing departmental functions, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Drive the Health underwriting mandate by executing rigorous risk selection, maintaining strict pricing discipline, and optimizing portfolio management within predefined authority limits, thereby ensuring the attainment of loss ratio targets, sustained portfolio quality, and adherence to the company’s underwriting philosophy.

Oversee a comprehensive range of responsibilities encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership to drive organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals, foster innovation, and address challenges proactively. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and present actionable insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making. Lead initiatives that optimize resource allocation, streamline workflows, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability across all operations.

Perform underwriting functions for the health insurance portfolio while maintaining strict adherence to risk selection standards, ensuring high-quality business outcomes, and meeting profitability and loss ratio objectives.

Assess health risks and determine appropriate underwriting actions—such as acceptance, rejection, or modification—within the scope of delegated authority, utilizing sound technical judgment and strict compliance with established underwriting guidelines.

Assess and implement suitable pricing, terms, and conditions by evaluating risk exposure to achieve an optimal balance between market competitiveness and rigorous underwriting standards.

Guarantee strict adherence to underwriting standards, credit policies, and delegated authority limits while upholding robust risk governance and audit preparedness.

Monitor assigned risks and ensure adherence to the recommendations provided in risk surveys, guaranteeing timely execution and ongoing enhancement of portfolio quality.

Partner with business development, claims, and other internal stakeholders to facilitate business acquisition, enhance client retention, and address underwriting-related concerns efficiently.

Monitor underwriting performance trends, identify emerging risks or areas of underperformance, and facilitate the implementation of corrective measures.

Maintain precise underwriting records and ensure thorough documentation of client data, adhering to both company policies and regulatory standards.

Strictly adhere to the approved Delegated Authority Matrix and escalate any decisions that fall outside the designated limits.

Play a key role in enhancing underwriting processes, optimizing turnaround times, and elevating service delivery standards through ongoing initiatives.

Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as delegated to further departmental goals and initiatives.

Required qualifications and experience include a thorough understanding of [specific field or discipline], with a minimum of [X years] of hands-on experience in [relevant area]. Proficiency in data visualization tools, such as Power BI or Tableau, is highly desirable.
