Job Summary

Our client, a leading name in the hospitality sector, is recruiting a committed and diligent Kitchen Steward to reinforce their back-of-house operations. The successful candidate will oversee the upkeep of cleanliness and sanitation protocols throughout the kitchen, perform dishwashing duties, sanitize kitchen equipment, manage waste disposal, and uphold strict food safety and hygiene regulations within a high-volume, five-star hospitality setting. This position demands a candidate with exceptional organizational skills, physical stamina, keen attention to detail, and the ability to perform efficiently in a demanding and prestigious hospitality environment.

Oversee a comprehensive range of critical tasks, including ensuring compliance with industry regulations, managing client relationships, and leading cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. Conduct detailed financial analyses to support strategic decision-making, while also identifying and mitigating potential risks to safeguard company assets. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to develop and implement policies that enhance operational efficiency and drive sustainable growth. Additionally, serve as the primary liaison for external stakeholders, representing the company at industry events and fostering partnerships that expand market reach and influence.

Promptly and efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, pots, pans, and all kitchen equipment.

Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, storage areas, and food preparation zones are consistently maintained.

Responsibilities include maintaining the correct handling, storage, and organization of all kitchen equipment and supplies to ensure efficiency and safety.

Provide essential kitchen assistance to chefs and other kitchen personnel as needed, including preparation tasks and operational support.

Remove waste materials in strict compliance with established hygiene and safety protocols to ensure a secure and sanitary work environment.

Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of garbage collection areas consistently.

Responsibilities include replenishing cleaning supplies and promptly alerting supervisors when stock levels are running low.

Operate dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment in a manner that ensures safety and efficiency at all times.

Adhere strictly to all applicable food safety, health, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations and protocols.

Provide support in ensuring impeccable cleanliness standards for conferences, banquets, and other high-capacity events.

Maintain impeccable cleanliness and presentation standards in accordance with five-star hospitality protocols.

Respond to cleaning requests from the kitchen and food & beverage teams without delay.

Oversee and execute daily deep cleaning schedules alongside regular kitchen maintenance tasks to uphold hygiene and operational standards.

Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience and hold a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, is essential. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to interact effectively with stakeholders. The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, prioritize tasks efficiently, and meet deadlines is also necessary. Additionally, familiarity with project management methodologies and prior leadership experience are highly desirable.

Holders of an Associate’s Degree or Certificate in Hospitality Management are encouraged to apply.

A certification in Food Production, Hospitality, or a related discipline is highly advantageous.

A minimum of one to two years of hands-on experience as a Kitchen Steward in a hotel, restaurant, or other hospitality setting is essential for this role.

Proficiency in high-volume or luxury hospitality environments is strongly desired.

Proficiency in food safety protocols, sanitation guidelines, and hygiene best practices is essential.

Proficient in the safe handling and application of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Capable of maintaining physical fitness and sustaining prolonged periods of standing.

Demonstrates exceptional ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions.

Capable of accommodating varied shift schedules, encompassing weekends and holidays, as required.
