Swiss contact Kenya functions as the regional hub for the CESAR region and the central coordination point for programs throughout Kenya. For more than 20 years, Swiss contact has supported youth empowerment initiatives through entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, market-oriented skills training, and sustainable development interventions. Currently, the organization is executing an expansive project portfolio encompassing areas such as Agribusiness, Eye Healthcare, Digital Skills, Green Skills, and E-Mobility entrepreneurship. Key initiatives include Propel, which is dedicated to advancing youth skills development, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship within the electrical, plumbing, and lift mechanics trades.

General Position Summary

The Project Officer will play a key role in executing the Future Fit Project, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality initiatives in digital skills, green skills (particularly in e-mobility), youth entrepreneurship, and job creation. This position will deliver operational, coordination, and technical assistance to guarantee that project deliverables are completed punctually, within defined parameters, and in full compliance with donor, partner, and organizational standards.

The role demands an individual who demonstrates proactive problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial initiative, and meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant must skillfully manage project support responsibilities alongside various administrative duties.

This position is located in Nairobi, Kenya, requiring travel to field sites for up to 30% of the duration.

We are seeking a Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist to oversee and assess the effectiveness of our programs and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting. Responsibilities include designing and implementing monitoring frameworks, tracking progress against targets, and evaluating program outcomes. The role requires proficiency in statistical software, data visualization tools, and a deep understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods. Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are required to effectively execute job responsibilities. Familiarity with project management methodologies and adherence to deadlines are also necessary. Prior experience in a similar role or industry is strongly preferred.

A bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Education, Economics, Business, Engineering, ICT, or a closely related discipline is required.
