General Position Summary

The Project Officer will facilitate the successful execution of the Future Fit Project, ensuring the timely delivery of high-caliber project activities in digital skills, green skills (with an emphasis on e-mobility), youth entrepreneurship, and employment initiatives. This position will deliver operational, coordination, and technical assistance to guarantee that project deliverables are completed within the specified timeline, parameters, and compliance standards set by donors, partners, and the organization.

The role demands a proactive professional with strong critical thinking skills and an entrepreneurial mindset, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. The successful applicant must adeptly manage project support alongside a variety of administrative responsibilities.

This position is based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a requirement to travel to field locations for up to 30% of the time.

Develop project concepts, intervention strategies, and reporting materials as part of the team’s efforts.

Responsible for overseeing and assessing programs, initiatives, or organizational performance through systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting. Collaborate with partners, service providers, and beneficiaries to gather, structure, and verify quantitative and qualitative data.

Compile data and documentation required for generating project reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Document the learning outcomes, success stories, and effective practices derived from implementation efforts to create comprehensive support materials.

As an experienced professional in stakeholder engagement, you will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met through clear communication and strategic alignment. Your role will involve identifying critical stakeholders, assessing their influence and interests, and developing tailored engagement plans to foster collaboration and mitigate potential risks. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is required. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in financial management, budgeting, or accounting is essential. Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle is necessary. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are mandatory. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities are crucial for collaboration with stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning is preferred.

A relevant bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Education, Economics, Business, Engineering, ICT, or a comparable discipline is required.

Experience with donor-funded initiatives and results-driven project management methodologies is required.

Seeking candidates with two to three years of hands-on experience in facilitating development projects, NGOs, or private sector initiatives focused on youth employment, technical and vocational education and training (VET), digital skills, green skills, or entrepreneurship programs.
