MAJOR FUNCTIONS

The Finance Specialist delivers critical operational and analytical assistance to the Secretariat Finance Business Partnering team, with a primary focus on coordinating standard financial procedures, managing trackers and financial systems, and facilitating period-end and peak workload demands while upholding data accuracy and integrity across all financial platforms. Additionally, the role aids the team in grant management-related responsibilities by maintaining precise data records, ensuring proper documentation, and providing process support throughout grant setup, monitoring, reporting, and close out phases.

Responsibilities for this role include overseeing key operational functions and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. The position requires executing strategic initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable outcomes in line with established performance metrics. The integrity of financial systems and data is a critical responsibility within this role, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with applicable regulations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial controls and reporting standards. Key duties include monitoring system performance, validating data accuracy, and implementing measures to mitigate risks associated with financial reporting. Enter, update, and maintain precise financial data within designated finance systems and trackers, incorporating team-generated inputs as required.

Execute standard adjustments, corrections, and reclassifications by adhering to prescribed protocols and guidelines.

Reconcile discrepancies by supporting reconciliation activities and promptly addressing any follow-ups required.

PROFILE

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field required. Minimum of three years of experience in software development, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills for conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and version control systems, such as Git.

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
