The Senior Manager of Forensic Investigations plays a pivotal role in steering and overseeing the Bank’s forensic investigation efforts, providing strategic direction, and ensuring alignment with established procedures. This position involves assigning tasks to team members, enforcing compliance with investigative protocols, and guiding investigative processes to guarantee prompt, meticulous, and professional results. Additionally, the role encompasses administrative and leadership duties, including organizing, directing, coordinating, and tracking investigations while fostering optimal day-to-day performance among team members. The position further contributes to the enhancement of fraud awareness and investigative training initiatives for Bank staff, reinforcing the institution’s control framework and promoting a culture of vigilance against fraud. Moreover, the Senior Manager is tasked with designing and implementing investigative and fraud management strategies in accordance with the Bank’s policies, regulatory mandates, and overarching strategic goals.

Oversee and execute core duties critical to the role, including managing daily operations, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Facilitate communication between departments to promote collaboration and alignment with organizational goals. Analyze performance metrics to identify trends, assess efficiency, and recommend improvements where necessary. Prepare and present reports detailing progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership. Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Support staff development through mentorship, training initiatives, and performance evaluations to enhance productivity and engagement. Maintain compliance with industry regulations and company standards to mitigate risks and uphold operational integrity. Contribute to long-term planning by participating in strategic discussions and implementing initiatives that drive sustainable growth.

Offer strategic direction and comprehensive supervision for inquiries involving payment systems fraud, electronic banking fraud, card fraud, SWIFT transactions, mobile banking fraud, fraud across other digital channels, ATM fraud, check fraud, and unauthorized fund transfers.

Oversee and manage inquiries into questionable payment activities, potential system breaches, phishing attempts, social engineering tactics, and irregularities in payment processing workflows.

Examine transaction logs, system audit trails, settlement records, switch reports, card management data, and digital evidence to assess the scope and characteristics of fraudulent activities.

Investigate matters that involve both local and international payment systems, correspondent banks, regulatory bodies, telecommunications providers, and law enforcement agencies, ensuring thorough coordination among all relevant parties.

Promptly elevate and address payment-related fraud incidents to mitigate financial losses and safeguard the Bank’s reputation.

Conduct a thorough assessment of vulnerabilities present in payment systems, channels, and processes, then propose and implement targeted fraud prevention strategies and control improvements to mitigate risks effectively.

Responsible for managing the preservation and examination of digital evidence to aid in investigations, enforcement actions, and legal proceedings.

Investigation reports, fraud trend analyses, management updates, and regulatory reports pertaining to payment fraud incidents are to be prepared.

Implement fraud monitoring tools, transaction surveillance systems, and payment security measures to enhance operational safeguards and mitigate risks effectively.

Deliver comprehensive fraud awareness and investigative training programs tailored for personnel engaged in payments operations, digital banking, and electronic channels.

We are seeking a highly skilled professional who meets the following qualifications and possesses substantial relevant experience. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, computer science, or business administration, from an accredited institution, along with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in a comparable role. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is proficiency with industry-specific software and tools. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments and the ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Certification or advanced training in a specialized area is a significant advantage.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, Commerce, Banking and Finance, Law, Accounting, or a related discipline is required.

Professional qualifications may include credentials such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or ADAMS, along with comparable certifications.

Experienced in forensic investigation techniques and compliant with regulatory standards.

Professionals with a proven track record in forensic investigations, fraud risk management, banking operations, or law enforcement are strongly encouraged to apply.

Proven expertise in overseeing intricate investigations and leading cross-functional teams in a financial services environment.
