Ensure the preparation and support of comprehensive financial reports, meticulously compile relevant data, and resolve queries to uphold compliance and maintain precision in all financial documentation.
As the Local Finance Focal Point, your responsibilities include validating invoices, ensuring the accuracy of financial calculations, and submitting financial data to the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC).
Maintain accurate records by tracking and reconciling expenditures, balances, and payments for daily transactions.
Data Management involves curating, validating, and inputting information from a variety of sources, with a strong emphasis on maintaining both thoroughness and precision.
Prepare scheduled and ad-hoc reports for audits, budgets, and other requirements, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to meet internal and external stakeholder needs.
Support the year-end account closure process and collaborate on the preparation of the annual financial statements.
The incumbent will offer expert counsel to employees and consultants regarding allowances, claims, and financial procedures.
Initiate correspondence to validate information and resolve any discrepancies encountered.
The role involves cultivating and sustaining partnerships with local banking institutions, tracking fluctuations in exchange rates, and compiling reconciliations as required.
Responsible for developing cost estimates and participating in budget analysis and related projects.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities are required. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to meet deadlines efficiently. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is advantageous.
A secondary education credential is mandatory for consideration.
A minimum of six years of pertinent professional experience in finance and accounting is necessary.
Required competencies include the capacity to develop and oversee project plans, objectives, and deliverables while monitoring resource allocation—such as time, budget, and team capacity—and proactively identifying potential risks. Additionally, the ability to interpret data, detect key issues, and deliver data-driven recommendations that support informed decision-making is essential. Strong proficiency in leveraging digital tools, AI-driven platforms, and integrated business systems to enhance data accuracy, streamline management processes, and optimize reporting capabilities is also required.
Fluency in English is a prerequisite for this role.
Desirables:
Proficiency in an additional official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or in the local language of the assigned duty station is regarded as beneficial.
Highly desirable qualifications include professional and/or university-level coursework in finance and accounting.
