POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Maintenance Coordinator oversees daily facility maintenance activities, encompassing the repair and upkeep of buildings, water systems, grounds, furniture, nonmedical equipment, and waste management across hospital premises to maintain optimal safety and functionality at all times. By collaborating closely with the Facility Manager/Director, this role ensures the seamless operation and maintenance of the hospital’s infrastructure while also coordinating building and construction-related projects to uphold structural integrity and compliance.

The Facility Manager/Director oversees the execution of maintenance tasks for designated objects, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to established standards.
Provide support in the preparation, advancement, and implementation of approved construction and renovation initiatives.
Develop and enforce a maintenance strategy using the CMS (Computerized Asset Management System), ensuring adherence to established protocols while providing support to the maintenance team to successfully meet the facility’s maintenance objectives.
Serves as the internal auditor, responsible for reviewing and evaluating all tasks, projects, and operational activities performed by external contractors.
Compiles comprehensive documentation for internal construction initiatives, including bill of quantities (BOQ’s), project plans, inspection records, and handover reports.
The role involves overseeing and sustaining the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including delivering training to system users. Each year, the position conducts a comprehensive audit of the system’s data and collaborates with the Facility Manager/Director to address discrepancies and ensure accurate, up-to-date information within the system.
Direct and oversee maintenance team operations, ensuring adherence to approved protocols and procedures for effective facility and equipment upkeep.
Coordinates maintenance activities in collaboration with various departments to ensure seamless departmental operations and effective execution of maintenance tasks.
Supports the Facility Manager/Director by creating and executing maintenance plans for facilities and associated nonmedical equipment that are not covered under a service agreement.
The maintenance department oversees the inventory of all supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are properly accounted for. Additionally, responsibilities include verifying that maintenance staff possess and utilize the correct personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, and supplies required to complete their assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
Supervises all casual staff engaged in internal building projects to ensure compliance with the hospital’s employment policy requirements.
Documents all maintenance activities, achievements, and reported incidents for review by the Facility Manager/Director.
Collaborates with the maintenance team to execute maintenance tasks, performing hands-on maintenance and construction duties such as buildings, water and wastewater systems, electrical systems, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE).
Supervises the maintenance and repair of pertinent tools and equipment, collaborating with skilled team members or external vendors as necessary.
Maintains a current repository of equipment manuals and schematic diagrams provided by manufacturers, both in digital and physical formats.
Ensures the consistent use of appropriate safety equipment throughout all task executions.
Demonstrates clear and professional communication with colleagues about equipment, facilities, and their appropriate utilization.
Compiles and presents the maintenance team’s performance metrics, operational progress, and key achievements to the Facility Manager or Director, ensuring transparency and alignment with organizational objectives.
Develop and coordinate work schedules for teams while reporting to the Facility Manager or Director.
The individual is responsible for the accurate storage, distribution, issuance, utilization, maintenance, and overall management of all maintenance-related tools and assets within the hospital.
On-call availability is required, encompassing weekends, nights, and holidays, as needed.
Maintain adherence to all Health & Safety regulations and procedures throughout every work assignment, ensuring the proper use and wearing of Personal Protective Equipment as mandated.
