THE ROLE
As the Sous Chef, you will lead our kitchen operations across Nairobi, reporting directly to the Head Chef. This dynamic role demands active, hands-on leadership—overseeing kitchen efficiency, upholding the high food quality standards our guests rely on, and fostering the growth of your team.
You will collaborate across various branches, emphasizing the critical importance of maintaining uniformity. From the initial service of the day to the final closing, your performance remains unwavering, as does the established standard.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
Maintain unwavering standards of food quality and consistency across all locations, ensuring identical presentation and taste in every service, without exception.
Oversee cost and waste management by maintaining strict control over food expenditures, minimizing unnecessary waste, and ensuring proper stock rotation protocols are followed.
You oversee all kitchen operations, managing prep schedules, duty rosters, supply coordination, and inventory control to ensure seamless daily functionality.
Provide leadership to the kitchen team by coaching, motivating, and fostering professional growth among staff members. Schedule and conduct consistent one-on-one check-ins to ensure alignment and address individual needs. Cultivate an environment where team members feel empowered to take ownership of their roles and deliver work with excellence.
You must prioritize hygiene and compliance as absolute priorities. This involves strictly adhering to food safety regulations, correctly maintaining equipment, and ensuring the team remains prepared for any emergencies at all times.
Deliver exceptional guest experiences by actively monitoring feedback, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring each guest departs with a positive impression.
