The position requires the voter educator to reside within the Constituency where the by-election is scheduled to occur.

Fluency in the primary language spoken by the residents of the electoral unit is essential.

Additionally, they collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions to develop and distribute educational materials, ensuring these resources are accessible and tailored to diverse audiences. Voter Educators also address inquiries, clarify misconceptions, and provide guidance on voter registration, polling locations, and identification requirements, thereby fostering an informed and engaged citizenry.

Reporting directly to the Constituency Returning Officer, the Voter Educator will be responsible for delivering comprehensive voter education initiatives aimed at enhancing public understanding of electoral processes, rights, and responsibilities. This role encompasses designing and implementing targeted outreach programs, coordinating with community leaders and stakeholders, and ensuring accurate dissemination of information to diverse demographic groups. Key duties include organizing workshops, managing informational campaigns, and collaborating with electoral teams to address voter concerns and promote inclusive participation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, prior experience in civic education or public engagement, and a commitment to fostering democratic awareness.

Receive and disseminate educational resources, informational content, communication materials, and publicity materials related to voter engagement and awareness initiatives.

Forge strategic alliances with a diverse range of state and non-state entities, including media outlets, civil society organizations, community-based groups, faith-based institutions, government ministries, and influential opinion leaders.

Identify and engage public benefit organizations that serve marginalized communities, including women, youth, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and ethnic minorities.

Convey voter education initiatives through direct engagement in in-person forums, as well as via established mainstream media channels and various social media networks.

You will serve as the representative of the Regional Office during forums and meetings organized by partners, acting as the primary liaison to ensure effective communication and collaboration. This role involves actively participating in discussions, presenting relevant updates, and aligning initiatives with the objectives of both the Regional Office and its partners. By fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with partner-driven agendas, you will contribute to the success of joint efforts and strategic outcomes.

We diligently address and resolve inquiries and issues raised by the public, ensuring prompt and courteous responses while maintaining a commitment to transparency and accountability.

Assist the Returning Officer (RO) in organizing and leading briefing sessions for accredited voter education providers, election observers, and media practitioners.

Handle and resolve public inquiries regarding elections, compiling and addressing concerns as they arise.

Prepare comprehensive reports on voter education initiatives, partnership development, and communications strategies, as well as stakeholder engagement activities, for submission to and review by the Reporting Officer (RO).

Upon the conclusion of the voter education exercise, compile and submit a constituency-based report to the Returning Officer.

Duties may also include additional tasks as directed by the Reporting Officer.
