Position Overview

The ECD Teacher aligned with CBC is tasked with delivering competency-based educational experiences to early learners. This position focuses on fostering core competencies, values, and attitudes through dynamic, child-centered instructional methods that equip children with the tools necessary for continuous learning throughout their lives.

Oversee and execute a range of strategic initiatives to drive organizational growth and operational excellence. Develop and implement comprehensive plans to enhance efficiency, productivity, and performance across departments. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align initiatives with long-term business objectives and ensure seamless integration with existing processes. Lead cross-functional teams to foster innovation, streamline workflows, and achieve measurable outcomes. Monitor progress through data-driven insights, adjusting strategies as needed to optimize results. Serve as a key decision-maker, providing expert guidance to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies while maintaining high ethical standards.

CBC lesson planning involves creating and executing daily instructional sessions that incorporate key Competency-Based Curriculum strands, including literacy, numeracy, environmental activities, psychomotor development, and social skills.

Facilitate learner-centered experiences by guiding children through exploration, discovery, and problem-solving, moving beyond rote memorization to foster deeper understanding and engagement.

Proficiency evaluation involves employing formative assessment methodologies to gauge learners’ abilities, proficiencies, and ethical principles.

Engage parents and guardians as active partners in reinforcing learners’ skills and knowledge within the home environment.

Foster the incorporation of national principles, essential life competencies, and ethical citizenship within everyday activities.

Incorporate play, projects, and experiential activities as fundamental tools to cultivate and enhance key competencies in learners.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date learner portfolios, progress reports, and assessment records in strict adherence to CBC guidelines.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Proven experience in software development, preferably with a focus on financial or payment systems, is essential. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is necessary. Familiarity with database management, API integrations, and cloud computing platforms is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are critical. Understanding of secure coding practices and compliance standards, including PCI DSS, is advantageous.

Obtained a Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (ECD) from an accredited institution.

Registered as a member in good standing with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Implementation training and practical application of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in classroom settings.

A minimum of one year of hands-on teaching experience in Early Childhood Development and Education (ECD) is required.

Proven ability to effectively analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions. Demonstrates strong proficiency in relevant software applications and tools, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating seamlessly within cross-functional teams. Experience in project management, with a keen eye for detail and adherence to deadlines. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, ensuring efficient task prioritization and execution. Adaptable to evolving priorities and changing business needs, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

CBC emphasizes pedagogical strategies and learner-centered methodologies to enhance educational outcomes and foster active engagement in the learning process.

Exceptional ability to facilitate discussions and convey information clearly and persuasively.

Designing innovative and engaging experiential learning activities requires a strong emphasis on creativity, ensuring that each activity is both dynamic and impactful.

A strong capacity for patience, empathy, and adaptability is essential.

Proficient in incorporating information and communication technology (ICT) resources into early childhood education settings.
