JOB PURPOSE

The Research Officer will oversee the recruitment and enrollment of participants for the study across designated healthcare facilities in Nairobi County. This role involves direct reporting to the Study Coordinator.

The position involves executing a range of specialized duties and fulfilling key operational obligations. Core responsibilities include managing project timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to established protocols. Additional tasks may encompass analyzing performance metrics, drafting comprehensive reports, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. Collaboration with stakeholders at various levels is essential to achieve organizational objectives and drive continuous improvement.

Screening, recruiting, and enrolling qualified participants in accordance with study protocols and guidelines.

Gather information in strict accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures.

Data were entered into the Android-based tablet system utilizing Redcap for data collection purposes.

Ensure the integrity, completeness, and secure management of collected data while adhering to study-specific SOPs and best clinical practices for storage and handling.

Adhere to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) practices and maintain strict confidentiality protocols.

Compile daily reports summarizing screened and enrolled study participants for the clinical site.

Ensuring study participants undergo the correct interventions and procedures.

Ensure strict adherence of study participants to all specified study protocols and procedures.

Demonstrate a comprehensive grasp of the study Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Maintain continuous adherence to study procedures as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the duration of the study.

Provide comprehensive training to facility staff on the PM+ system to ensure proficiency in its operation and maintenance.

Prepare and submit biweekly reports detailing recruitment and enrollment progress in the study to the study Coordinator.

Monthly, compile data capture forms to document modifications in study strategies.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with at least three years of professional experience in a similar role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is mandatory, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with project management methodologies and compliance standards is highly desirable.

A recognized institution must award a Diploma in Community Health, Social Work, or Counselling Psychology.

Fluency in both English and Kiswahili is essential, as these are the primary languages spoken by our research participants.

Requires a minimum of two years of hands-on research experience.

Requires proficiency in REDCAP for efficient data collection.

Proficiency in the study area, specifically Nairobi County, is essential.

Highly proficient in computer operations with a strong command of relevant software and applications.

Requires certification in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection, with validity extending for at least 48 months from the date this advertisement is posted.

Must possess strong communication abilities to engage in consistent correspondence with the study coordinator through email and Zoom.

Demonstrates strong collaboration skills, actively engaging with site-based study personnel to foster effective teamwork and ensure cohesive project execution.
