What you’ll do
As the cornerstone of our investment team, the Investment Director will assume full accountability for deal origination, structuring, and portfolio management across our designated markets. Reporting directly to the Head of Fund, the Investment Director will leverage extensive industry expertise to evaluate and execute high-stakes, innovative transactions while actively shaping fund strategy and fostering the growth of our junior team members.
An ideal candidate for this position is an investor who excels in uncertain conditions, energized by pioneering sustainable finance and natural capital initiatives. Oversee and execute key responsibilities central to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. This includes managing daily tasks with precision, coordinating cross-functional initiatives, and maintaining strict adherence to established protocols and deadlines. Additionally, the position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, continuous performance evaluation, and the delivery of measurable results to support team and company-wide goals.
Proactively source and cultivate investment opportunities in reforestation, blue carbon, and sustainable agriculture and land use within emerging markets. Establish and nurture a robust proprietary pipeline by leveraging a network of on-the-ground relationships with project developers, government entities, and ecosystem intermediaries. Implement and refine a stringent screening framework to evaluate opportunities in alignment with the fund’s financial and impact benchmarks.
Drive strategic investment decisions by overseeing comprehensive end-to-end assessments for corporate and project-level opportunities, encompassing financial modeling, carbon methodology evaluation, legal and regulatory scrutiny, community and environmental safeguards, as well as country and political risk analysis. Develop and negotiate investment terms while assembling investment committee materials that present clear, well-supported recommendations. Verify that each investment aligns with established portfolio return targets, impact goals, and risk tolerance parameters.
Portfolio management and value creation entail assuming proactive stewardship of post-close investments, meticulously tracking performance against key performance indicators, and identifying risks in a timely manner. Additionally, offering direct assistance to investees when necessary is required. Collaboration with project teams is essential to bolster operational resilience, enhance carbon credit issuance results, and uncover subsequent avenues for value creation.
Drive the identification and cultivation of high-impact strategic partnerships—encompassing carbon credit offtakers, co-investors, and technical or research collaborators—to bolster the fund’s investment appeal and reduce transaction-level risks. As a senior relationship manager, oversee engagement with partners throughout the entire deal lifecycle.
Provide investor relations support by delivering precise, prompt, and analytically rich updates regarding deal advancements and portfolio outcomes. Facilitate fundraising discussions by supplying credible, deal-specific evidence that demonstrates the fund’s strategic vision in practice.
Who you are
Seasoned professionals with a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in the relevant field are encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess a proven track record of success in similar roles, demonstrating expertise and adaptability. The ideal applicant will have a strong educational background, complemented by specialized training or certifications pertinent to the position. With a proven track record of over a decade in investment positions—including extensive involvement in emerging markets—along with valuable experience in infrastructure, project finance, or private equity, this role demands a seasoned professional.

Preferred candidates will possess a solid understanding of voluntary carbon markets, including carbon methodology frameworks, Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) processes, additionally and permanence principles, and the risks associated with credit issuance.
