Spearhead the design and implementation of the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development portfolio within the country strategy, guaranteeing seamless alignment with national priorities and the Foundation’s overarching vision.
Develop and implement comprehensive Access to Finance initiative designed to foster greater financial inclusion and support the expansion of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) led by youth and women entrepreneurs.
Establish both immediate and long-term objectives for the portfolio to shape strategic direction, programmatic design, and partnership decisions.
To ensure effective delivery, coordination, and ongoing enhancement, this role will manage the implementation and performance of entrepreneurship-focused programs and partnerships.
Offer comprehensive assistance to fellow strategic pillars regarding access to finance and enterprise development initiatives.
Guide the development and execution of market-responsive strategies focused on expanding access to finance, enhancing digital capabilities, strengthening business development services, and fostering entrepreneurship across key sectors, such as agriculture and the green economy.

WHO YOU ARE
A bachelor’s or master’s degree—or an equivalent qualification—in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship, or a related discipline is required.
A minimum of fifteen years of experience in Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development or Business Development—or a comparable private-sector role—is required, including seven years overseeing and directing a team.
Proven track record and well-established professional networks in Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development or Business Development or related fields within Kenya.
Professionals must possess an extensive understanding of the nation’s employment trends, job market dynamics, and innovation ecosystem.
Demonstrated experience in guiding and supporting thriving entrepreneurial initiatives, fostering growth and development among emerging business leaders.
Proficiency in launching innovative projects, particularly within enterprise or commercial growth domains, is required.
Demonstrates a strong track record of engaging and collaborating with senior government officials, strategic partners, media outlets, business leaders, and other influential stakeholders within the network.
Engagement in entrepreneurial ventures or the cultivation of innovative initiatives within an existing organization is preferred.
Individuals should possess a well-established understanding of Kenya’s economic landscape, political climate, and key public sector objectives, alongside the dynamic shifts within the private sector.
Proficiency in systems thinking, coupled with the aptitude to effectively collaborate with stakeholders in Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development, is essential. The role requires designing programs that target underlying causes and address pressing needs.
