Currently, Swiss contact is executing a wide-ranging portfolio of projects that encompass Agribusiness, Eye Healthcare, Digital Skills, Green Skills, and E-Mobility entrepreneurship. Among these initiatives is Propel, which is dedicated to enhancing youth skills development, employment opportunities, and entrepreneurship within the electrical, plumbing, and lift mechanics trades.

General Position Summary

The Project Officer will facilitate the successful execution of the Future Fit Project, ensuring the timely delivery of high-caliber project activities centered on digital skills, green skills (particularly e-mobility), youth entrepreneurship, and employment. This position will offer operational, logistical, and technical assistance to guarantee project deliverables are achieved promptly, remain within designated parameters, and comply with donor, partner, and organizational standards.

This role seeks a self-motivated, analytical problem-solver with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong attention to detail. The successful applicant must skillfully manage project assistance alongside various administrative duties.

This position is located in Nairobi, Kenya, with an expected travel requirement to various field sites, amounting to up to 30% of the time.

Support the coordination, scheduling, and planning of trainings, workshops, apprenticeships, curriculum development sessions, and stakeholder meetings.

Ensure all action items resulting from meetings and field activities are addressed promptly and effectively.

Assist in the formulation and refinement of project concepts, intervention strategies, and reporting mechanisms.

Integrate sustainability and market systems development principles into all project activities to ensure comprehensive alignment and impact.

Assist collaborators in developing operational strategies, maintaining quality standards, and evaluating programmatic outcomes.

The role involves overseeing and assessing the effectiveness of programs and initiatives through systematic data collection, analysis, and reporting. Key responsibilities include developing monitoring frameworks, implementing evaluation methodologies, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity. The position requires proficiency in data management tools, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate findings into actionable insights. Monitor the ongoing project activities, outputs, and indicators in alignment with the established Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) framework.

Contribute to the acquisition, structured arrangement, and verification of both quantitative and qualitative data obtained from collaborators, external service providers, and end beneficiaries.

Compile data inputs for project reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual submissions.

Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation capturing learning outcomes, success narratives, and effective practices derived from project implementation to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, along with a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a comparable role. A bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Education, Economics, Business, Engineering, ICT, or a closely related discipline is required.

Possesses a thorough understanding of donor funded initiatives and the methodologies associated with results-based project management.

Seeking a professional with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in advancing development initiatives, whether within NGOs, the private sector, or other organizations, with a focus on youth employment, technical and vocational education and training (VET), digital skills, green skills, or entrepreneurship programs.
