JOB PURPOSE
To ensure the efficient processing and release of Reefer containers at the Mombasa port facility.
Oversee a diverse range of critical duties to ensure operational excellence, including [list responsibilities here]. Prepare and finalize export documentation for submission to customs authorities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and facilitating the smooth clearance of goods.
Process documentation within the PA system, specifically utilizing the WATTS platform.
Port charges are to be secured for Key Performance Areas (Pas).
Verify that all export documentation is fully prepared and submit it to the appropriate regulatory authorities.
Upon arrival at the port, verify the presence of containers and record temperature readings for all reefer units both at entry and upon connection to the designated plugging points.
Once regulatory approvals are obtained, proceed with releasing shipments in WATTS.
Upon the vessel’s departure, ensure all plugging charges have been processed and followed up on accordingly.
After vessel departure, ensure timely follow-up on Certificates of Entitlement (COE’s) once loading operations have been finalized.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Minimum of three years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on web applications, is essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Java is mandatory. Familiarity with frameworks including React, Angular, or Django is preferred. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required. Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB is a plus. Experience with DevOps practices and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is desirable.
