The Chief Procurement Officer/Procurement Officer will lead and oversee all operations related to the University’s Procurement, Accounts Payable, and University Services functions. This individual will implement and enforce the policies, procedures, and objectives governing the University’s procurement activities in compliance with the Public Procurement and Assets Disposal Act (2015), the PAD Regulations (2020), and any other relevant legal provisions.
Applicants are required to possess the following academic and professional qualifications:
A master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a closely related discipline is required.
A minimum of ten years of hands-on experience in procurement and supply chain management is essential, with at least five of those years dedicated to senior-level responsibilities.
Certified Procurement and Supply Professional (PSP) qualification or an equivalent credential is required.
A certified member in good standing with the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
A practitioner holding a valid license in procurement and supply chain management.
Proficient in utilizing computers and expertly skilled in operating relevant software applications.
Oversee and execute key responsibilities ensuring seamless operations and adherence to established protocols, while actively contributing to strategic planning and performance enhancement initiatives. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align team efforts with organizational objectives, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity and efficiency across all assigned tasks. Monitor progress against predefined targets, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain high standards of quality and compliance. Serve as a pivotal point of contact for stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and fostering transparent communication to strengthen stakeholder relationships. Lead by example, demonstrating leadership qualities and a commitment to continuous professional development to inspire and motivate the team.

Procurement requests are reviewed and processed in alignment with the established procurement plan.
Oversee the tendering process in strict adherence to the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act (2015) and its subsequent Regulations (2020).
Oversee and refresh the supplier database to ensure its accuracy and completeness.
Draft official notifications for tender awards and contracts.
Provide strategic guidance to the University on matters pertaining to procurement, ensuring adherence to relevant policies, regulations, and best practices.
Provide guidance on any additional matters related to procurement concerns or initiatives.
