The successful candidates will serve as permanent, pensionable teaching staff while assuming the role of Dean of School, which is offered on a three-year renewable contract basis. Reporting directly to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics, Research, and Student Affairs, their responsibilities will include:

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational standards. Develop, implement, and monitor strategic initiatives to drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement across assigned functions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for innovation, streamline processes, and mitigate potential risks. Maintain meticulous documentation, adhere to regulatory compliance, and report progress through established performance metrics and KPIs. Foster a culture of accountability, professional development, and teamwork while ensuring adherence to company policies and industry best practices.

Developing and executing strategic plans for the School constitutes a core responsibility, ensuring alignment with institutional objectives and guiding long-term growth initiatives. This role involves analyzing current operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, and establishing measurable goals to enhance academic excellence, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with leadership teams to implement initiatives, monitor progress, and adapt strategies as needed to meet evolving institutional needs and external challenges.

Overseeing instructional delivery and assessment processes to ensure courses are delivered promptly, meet established standards, and provide comprehensive coverage while maintaining the integrity of all examinations.

Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the attendance of both students and staff members in class.

Responsible for strategically planning, allocating, and managing resources—both human and physical—to ensure optimal utilization and efficiency.

The role focuses on maintaining the School’s long-term viability by enhancing student retention, ensuring cohort completion, improving progression rates, and expanding the student population.

Spearheading pioneering research initiatives and fostering a culture of innovation within the School.

Driving and motivating grant and proposal writing initiatives across the School remains a core responsibility.

Forging and overseeing strategic alliances, partnerships, and collaborative networks within the industry.

Spearheading the School’s internationalization initiatives, this encompasses expanding program offerings, diversifying the student nationality mix, and enhancing international exposure for both students and staff via structured exchange programs.

Delivering exceptional customer service to students and staff, this role involves addressing and resolving their inquiries and concerns efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities include overseeing employee performance, attendance tracking, leave administration, and disciplinary actions to ensure a productive and compliant workforce.

Responsible for leading programme development and evaluation initiatives, guaranteeing that all academic offerings align with evolving market demands and the strategic expansion goals of the School.

Developing and enforcing University policies is a key responsibility.

Developing and executing plans to consistently enhance the employability of graduates is a key responsibility.

Performs additional duties as directed by the supervisor, as needed.

We seek candidates with a relevant degree and a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in the field. Proficiency in key industry tools and software is essential, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred, though not mandatory. Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work collaboratively in a team environment are required. Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards is a must.

A PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, Educational Technology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited and recognized university is required.

A minimum of three years of higher education teaching and research experience, specifically in the capacity of a Lecturer or Research Fellow, is required.

Demonstrates a proven track record of scholarly contributions, evidenced by a history of publications in the capacity of Lecturer or Research Fellow.

Demonstrated leadership and administrative proficiency is essential. Candidates with prior experience as a Head or Chair of Department, program leader, postgraduate coordinator, or in comparable management roles will receive strong preference.

Oversaw the successful completion of a minimum of two postgraduate students’ academic programs.

Secured external research funding while serving as a Lecturer/Research Fellow.

Demonstrates a proven track record of active participation in academic conferences, seminars, or workshops, contributing meaningfully to discussions and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Actively engage in the university community by contributing to departmental and school initiatives, attending relevant meetings, providing academic guidance to students, and serving on committees, among other duties.

Membership in an appropriate professional organization is required.
