Job Objective

The successful candidates will serve primarily as permanent, pensionable teaching staff while holding the position of Dean of School under a renewable three-year contract. Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics, Research, and Student Affairs, their responsibilities will include:

Perform a diverse range of duties and tasks essential to the role, including managing daily operations, coordinating team efforts, and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. Accountable for overseeing project execution, monitoring progress, and delivering timely results that align with organizational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, identify process improvements, and foster a productive work environment. Maintain accurate documentation, track performance metrics, and provide regular updates to stakeholders to support informed decision-making. Required to uphold high standards of professionalism, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and exhibit excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

The School requires strategic planning to ensure its long-term success and alignment with evolving educational goals. This involves establishing clear objectives, identifying key priorities, and developing actionable roadmaps to achieve institutional growth. The process encompasses analyzing current performance metrics, assessing resource allocation, and anticipating future challenges to foster a sustainable and innovative learning environment. Collaboration with stakeholders, including faculty, administrators, and external partners, is essential to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement. The plan must integrate data-driven insights with adaptive leadership to respond effectively to changing educational landscapes and community needs.

Overseeing the instruction and assessment processes to guarantee that courses are delivered promptly, thoroughly, and in accordance with established standards, while also maintaining the integrity of all examinations.

Responsible for monitoring and tracking student and staff attendance.

The strategic planning, allocation, and management of all resources—both human and physical—are essential to ensure their optimal utilization.

The school’s ongoing viability hinges on maintaining strong student retention, ensuring cohort completion, enhancing progression rates, and expanding the student population.

Spearheading research and innovation initiatives within the School, fostering a dynamic environment where groundbreaking ideas thrive, and collective progress is achieved.

Guiding and motivating the development of grant and proposal writing initiatives within the School.

Developing and overseeing strategic alliances, joint initiatives, and mutually beneficial partnerships within the industry is a key responsibility of this role.

Spearheading the School’s internationalization initiatives, encompassing curriculum diversification, enhancement of the student and staff nationality composition, and provision of global exposure opportunities through structured exchange programs for students and faculty.

Providing outstanding customer service to students and staff by addressing and resolving their concerns promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities include overseeing employee performance, monitoring work attendance, managing leave requests, and handling disciplinary actions as necessary.

Programs are developed and reviewed under your leadership, with a focus on aligning offerings with evolving market demands and the strategic growth objectives of the School.

Developing and enforcing University policies to ensure compliance with institutional standards and regulatory requirements.

Delivering strategic initiatives aimed at consistently enhancing the employability of graduates.

Performs additional responsibilities as designated by the supervisor.

Seeking a highly motivated professional with a strong academic background and relevant industry experience. Candidates must possess a minimum of [X] years of experience in a related field, along with a degree in [specific field or discipline]. Proficiency in [specific skills or tools] is essential, and familiarity with [industry standards or regulations] is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively. A minimum requirement includes a Doctorate, Master’s, and Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, Educational Technology, or a closely related discipline, all obtained from a reputable and accredited university.

A minimum of three years of university-level teaching or research experience, preferably in a Lecturer or Research Fellow role, is required.

Demonstrates a proven track record of scholarly contributions through published works as a Lecturer or Research Fellow.

Seeking candidates with proven leadership and administrative capabilities. Strong preference will be given to those with prior roles such as Head or Chair of Department, program leader, postgraduate coordinator, or equivalent management experience in related fields.

Oversaw the successful completion of a minimum of two postgraduate students’ academic programs.

Secured funding for research initiatives in the capacity of a Lecturer/Research Fellow.

Demonstrates a history of participation in and active contribution to academic conferences, seminars, or workshops.

Demonstrates a commitment to the university community by actively engaging in departmental and school initiatives, meetings, student academic advising, and committee involvement, among other responsibilities.

Professional membership in an industry-recognized organization is required.
