Role Description

We are seeking a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager – Pensions (Corporate/Retail) to be based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The position entails leading a team to uncover business prospects within the pensions sector, cultivating and sustaining robust client relationships, and devising strategic initiatives to expand market presence in both corporate and retail pensions domains. Key duties encompass the preparation and delivery of presentations, execution of in-depth market research, trend analysis, contract negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with client requirements and organizational objectives.

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software development or a comparable role. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C# is essential, along with expertise in database management and system architecture. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also necessary. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and cloud services like AWS or Azure is preferred. Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders are a must.

Seasoned professionals with a track record in Business Development, Sales, or Client Relationship Management within the pensions or financial services sector are encouraged to apply.

Proven expertise in conducting market research, analyzing data, and developing strategic plans is required.

Proven ability to communicate effectively, deliver compelling presentations, and negotiate with confidence and professionalism.

Proficiency in Pensions Administration, Financial Products, and Regulatory Compliance is essential.

A strong ability to establish and maintain client relationships is essential, along with expertise in networking.

Capable of demonstrating self-motivation and achieving established performance benchmarks without direct supervision.

A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline is required, with a master’s degree serving as a favorable qualification.

Proficiency in the African financial services industry or the pensions sector would be considered a valuable asset.
