Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of duties and responsibilities essential to the role, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and operational standards. Perform thorough eye examinations and detailed vision assessments to evaluate ocular health and refractive status.

Evaluate and identify visual impairments and ocular disorders.

Prescribe and dispense corrective eyewear, including eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring optimal visual acuity and patient satisfaction through precise measurements and tailored recommendations.

Diagnose and oversee ocular diseases while ensuring appropriate referrals for complex cases.

Deliver comprehensive education to patients regarding ocular health and strategies for prevention, ensuring they understand essential practices for maintaining optimal vision and overall eye wellness.

Ensure meticulous maintenance of patient records and comprehensive documentation in adherence to established protocols and standards.

Partner with ophthalmologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

Engage in community outreach programs and conduct eye screening initiatives as needed.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of three years of applicable professional experience are required. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools, as well as excellent written and verbal communication abilities, are essential. Familiarity with regulatory compliance and project management methodologies is also a prerequisite.

A recognized institution must award a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Optometry, or alternatively, a Bachelor of Optometry and Vision Science.

Holds an active, valid professional license issued by the pertinent regulatory authority in Kenya.

A minimum of three years of hands-on clinical practice in a high-volume healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal abilities and clear, persuasive communication.

Demonstrates exceptional professionalism, ethical integrity, and an unwavering commitment to patient-centered care.

Demonstrates the capacity to thrive in a healthcare setting rooted in faith-based principles and values.
